C'Mara Hello Boys, Perhaps you're unaware of the fact that this year we luniors have been wag ing our own little battle on the home front. lt all began centuries ago when ai ancient Egyptian drew some figures in the sand and called it geometry. lf yoi should accidentally encounter any of his relatives over in Tunisia, Give 'er one for me. Oh, well, let's bury geometry in the pyramids for now, and discuss some c the pleasantries connected with being a lunior. This year has certainly been an eventful one for us. ln September we eager ly accepted our new responsibilities, leaving behind us those carefree, sophc moric days of old. Football season found us everpresent gridiron fans, staunchly cheering ou valiant heroes on to victory. Then before we realized it, the Christmas holiday were approaching, and we found ourselves enthusiastically making plans fo a Holiday Hop. As a result of expert management and hearty cooperation the dance was a gala affair, an occasion to be long remembered by all of us. Lastly came our lunior-Senior Prom and Banquet and with them came th' end of our social activities for the year. We could continue indefinitely to de scribe the thrills, and the tense moments connected with evolving a successfu Prom and Banquet, but since these two affairs were so novel and engaging Cas only a lunior undertaking could bel a special page has been devoted to them Tests and regents, a necessary evil, will inevitably complete our happ' junior days 5 and, when next we writefperhaps we'll all be very proud seniors -We hope? Till we meet again, lunior Class Regis Foote

NATION! ARMY In all parts of this vast world, the red, white and blue of Qld Glory waves over a brave army that knows no defeat-an army that is our country's boast. Throughout these pages, dedicated to the courageous men of America, fighting side by side with the men of United Nations, we depict those activities which train both mind and body to preserve the principles of democracy.

NXXITTV AND WISE First Row: l. Stack, M. Hennessy, l. Pierce, A. Hassett, E. O'Connor, A. Allen, R. Coakley, K. O'Neil, l. Dwyer Second Row: E. Shirley, D. Glover, R. Rhodes, l. McNeil, l. Houlihan, A. Goodwin, P. Kiernan, P. Gerard, P. Michaud Dear Fellows, When things start buzzing around the old Alma Mater, you can bet your next turloggh that the Sophs are behind it. Yes, we're always in the thick ot things whether it be bingo or card parties, bringing home victories on the grid- iron or court, murdering the French language with our abominable pronuncia- iron or court, murdering the French language with our abominable pronuncia- tion, or conquering the Helvetians and Germans with Caesar. Cn the gridiron you can see our huskier members crashing through the opponents line with all the power ot a tank. And we could match your top sergeants any day when it comes to oratory. Two ot our experts, loe Dwyer and loan Pierce, stepped out to win the elimination oratorical contest, adding another star and making us full generals. Already we've bid au revoir to one ot our platoon, Teener Hazard who is now swabbing the decks. l-le's gone forth with strict orders from us to deliver a tew bombs to knock the little fellows' ancestors right out ot their graves. And we've helped buy these bombs by staging a box social and bingo party. But our Sophomore year has come to an end. Though we're reluctant to leave, it is tor the best, because they'd have to create a new rank for us, since leave, it is for the best, because they'd have to create a new rank tor us, since weve already acguired tour stars. We hope that those who till our places will be able to prove themselves worthy ot the inheritance We've so ably established in the Sophomore class. Keep up your courage- -we're with you, The Sophs, Ann Hassett t21t
