They've been up along with Dick since 6:00.i We got up and dressed in a hurry Cgriped at by the boysl packed and loaded our suitcases. Ate breakfast and messed around because we had an hour to kill. Tom, Gail, Donna, and Rosy got some paddle boats and paddled around the lake-. Then all of us went on a 40 mile tour aroundthe lake. We boarded a Cruiser named Skipper Bill.' In the back was a seat for 5 and 2 chairs on the bottom landing, the next incline had- 4 chairs and next was cabin with booths and a kitchen. In the front there was two lover seats and it was conveniently dark! The trip took over an hour and a half. We sure enjoyed the beautiful scenery. , Two honey- mooning couples were aboard and one man, recently married, left his bride at home. On the way back Alberta, Irene and Clara were dozing in the back seat so the skip.per gave a quick jerk but didn't wake them. He blew his airhorn real loud and that really scared them, they jumped. We went to the BridalTCave. It was very interesting. We had a blabby old woman in our group and Tom and Gail mocked her constantly. On the way back we stopped at lookout tower anduthen headed for Arkansas. We stopped for the night in Tod's Courts in Cabool.. We were driving around the town and a carload of boys Qhillbillysj started talking to us. They were real nice and good looking.. At the show Clara kept seeing droves of mice coming after her so she kept awake for fear they would run off with her. We were too darned tired to. mess around so we went to bed right away. We decided not to.go to Arkansas because we were pretty far away. We went to St. Louis. What a mess. Everything is so spread out. We went to the zoo. Weepers! It was hot. It took us a couple of hours to cover the whole place. Everyone was fagged out. Next we visited the Botanical Gardens. The boys spread out a blanket under a shade tree and slept. The rest of us went in. After that we went to our motel which was the fanciest one yet. Coral Court. We were all in one building, -each separated by garages. We went into town looking for a miniature golf course and a place to eat. Ate at the Bismarch Cafe a seafood place. We Went I across the river into Illinois, drove around for an hour and came back into Missouri. We went to the show then went back to courts. The girls decided to have a big last fling. The boys went to bed using our chair pillows in the car. The girls took pictures drank Qpopj? ? ? ? ? - April 29 We slept late today and left at 9:30 for home. First we headed for Hannibal where we visited Mark Twain's I-Iome. It's 4:30, we 're through Keokuk and on our last drag home. We ate at The Cornpicker . We finally hit our good old St. Marys mud roads. We got to St. Marys at 9:15. We drove around the square and met the kids. Each one separated for home. It's all over and we. sure had lots of fun. It'll never forget it. ' Written by Donna Wilgenbush IAN Z ,. ...t, ,,,.. ,,,, , Vic., . , , . ,, ,,,,, ..t,,,,... ., . .... . .. ,,,. ..... . , . ..., -A ,, . , ,,,.
