In wonderment I gazed upon it, Drew it thence and placed it on The velvet moss that grew near by. Struggling thru leafy barriers o'erhead A sunbeam fell upon the globe, Which caused it with hidden fires, Exceeding bright to glow. Gazing intently upon it I saw, Many changes which startled me so. First to my wondering eyes descends, Wlzzyn Farquhar of High School days, She noted among her friends, For her good nature and gaiety. I had not seen her since that day,. So long ago4-the day of Graduation. She still seemed bright and gay, Despite her grave occupation. As everyone must remember, Dear WIzzy' always said, I'll never be a doctor or a nurse, But in order to fill her purse, She found she had to work, So she was voted in Town Clerk. Her voice swelled sweet and lovely, As she sang at Holy Mass. And now her voice has brought her fame, For she sings the leading part, She has traveled the whole world over, Pleasing nations with her art. And And One And now the crystal turned again, there came to my eager eyes, of the City's largest Hospitals, I saw in nurselike guise, A friend of my High School days, Christine Ayres the Irish lass. She ever tried to cheer the sick, Even while in our class. Her Her gentleness went far and wide, Hospital was now renowned, For her charity to Christ's lonely poor, Her life above will be crowned.
