OUR PASTOR'S MESSAGE THE CLASS OF 1958 APOSTOLI OMNES is your class motto. Every Catholic young man should be an apostle by his example. But his obligation to help others spirit- ually does not end there. This is especially true of a Catholic high school graduate. Charity- -love of God and of our neighbor--is the first and greatest commandment. We thank God for the sixty graduates of St. Mary's High School who have been ordained priests and for the fifty- six seminarians who are preparing to serve Him as other Christs, as well as the sev- en brothers who have heeded His call, Come, follow Me. What of the rest? Are they doing anything def- inite to bring their acquaintances nearer to God? Are they endeavoring to make converts? The Holy Father, the Bishops of the United States, our beloved Archbishop, the pastors of the Archdiocese have instituted Inquiry Classes to bring back to the practice of the Faith careless, fallen- away Catholics and to instruct non-Catholics . How many of you have tried to interest your friends who are earnest in learning the truths about God and their soul's salvation by talking with them about the one true religion? Your training has prepared you to be apostles. You not only know your religion, but you are able to explain it. 'I'he priests and Sisters who taught you have equipped you so that in turn you can teach others. You have had a thorough course in Apologetics. Since 1934, when we graduated our first class, no advice in the Pastor's Message has been more important than the above. No exercise of Chris- tian charlty can be more profitable to you and your neighbor than this. Be Lay Apostles: help others spiritually. It will strengthen your Faith. It will bring the Faith to another. God has made us to know, to love, and to serve Him ln this world and to be happy with l-lim in the next. What a beautiful act of gratitude for the Faith if each graduate were to bring one soul into the Church each yearl MONSIGNOR MCGLINCHEY
