When I was a lowly freshman I thought that it would take a full book to reproduce accurately an account of my long years in school. Now I realizc all too well how short my story is. There is almost nothing to relate except that my training has been splendid, and my life happy. Having struggle-l over many a hurdle, I became a senior, and made the last great push. Wzll1a11z Patrzck 0B1 Z6'1l 41 MURRAY mm LYNN Leaving crght uninterrupted years of education at the Sacred Heart Gram mar School I joined the endless flovs of youth endeavormg to further xts scholastic training rn a parochial high school With only very lrttle inducement from my parents being necessary I chose to burden Saint Mary s vuth myself Upon entering the yard on that crisp September morn of 1942 I gazed on many unfamrlrar faces the owners of which I was later to know very vsell I adapted myself to my studies and quickly ad xanced through the grades Suddenly I found myself in the final stage looking down upon the undergraduates with a feeling of pride With much confidence and with all the finesse that accompanies a student of that rank I carried out the duties of the senlor year Gladly I take this opportunity to express my sincerest thanks to the Priests and Sisters my spiritual dr rectors and to my foresrghted and devoted parents fobn forepb 0N6lll 33 GROVE STREET LYNN When the stock exchange crashed and all Wall Street was in an uproar I came into this forlorn world For my first four years I resided in New York trying to straighten out tne nation s numerous economic difficulties Upon moving to Lynn I gave school serious consideration At Saint Mary s Irish colleen All good things come to an end so I graduated and prepared to enter high school Contrary to my expectations this was very interesting and I sailed through the years and finally came to port in the Senior Room Soon I must again set sail for I am to graduate The perils of this next xoyage are much more dangerous but I am ready Everyone worked tha I might be a success I am grateful to all 165 NORTH STREET SALI:M It rs here at Samt Mary s that I have served an apprentlceshnp in prepara tion for life and eternity Within these walls my faltermg steps on the path of secondary education have been carefully guided by the patient Sisters of Saint joseph It doesn t seem long smce that cool September morn in 1942 xx hen I first made that gourney over the wooded wastes of Highland Axe vue betm een Salem and Lynn Soon I must make the trip for the last time When I leave I shall have many pleasant memories of thus ride and of school for they gave me an opportunity to make friends and to enjov many social actmtres I am sure that vshatever comes my way the firm and spiritual educational foundation which has been provided for me vull stand by and guide me alvsays f32l . . . , . 7 . .
