20 HOLTON PLACF LYNN At last what once seemed so far distant has been attained Happily I stand on the threshold of Saint Marys Boys High ready to depart wnth the thrill of glorious achievement goadmg me on A few years ago I listened to Father Sherlock give a graduation address at the Breed umor High He told the students to imagine that they were living ten years hence and were looking back upon the intervening years When my ten year span is completed l hope to look back on a decade of years filled with yoy with success and above all with goodness I am determined to reflect credit on my parents and on my teachers and school A little sad I come to the close of my happy school life and look pensrvely into the future To the Sisters whose patrence I must have tried many 1 time and to my parents who insisted upon my having a Catholic educatxon I am much indebtcd l extend my sincere thanks to all Fmnczr Tbomaf MdgM11 e 20 CHURCH STREET LYNN After 1 strenuous early education and eventual graduation from Saint Marys Grammar School in 1942 I entered this famed institution ot learning With amazing speed tne freshman sophomore and yumor terms passed by until I found myself a proud member of the graduating class between attending basketball and baseball games and keeping up with my varieu curriculum Realrzmg the future struggles which I would encounter I tried to make this last semester one which I could always remember as being the happiest My hrgh school career has been one of contentment which I feel is due both to the excellent tutelage of the Sisters and the tnernng foresight of my parents rn enrolling me litre To you all I express my dccpcst appreciation Arthur Wzyred MdVCbd7Mi 197 HAMILTON AVENUE LYN1x For the last four years the limit of my travels has been between my home and Saint Mary s Confined though my journeys were these years were the happiest in my young life To date my days in school have been filled with study for I burned with the zeal of advancing myself in the class The way I went at my homework so attracted the attention of all my teachers that many evenings I wa after school The ambition which someday I hope to fulfill is travel Yes I want to go to the far off corners of the world and meet foreign people l want to study their language and their customs and rites Yet even after I travel my fondest memories will be of the Boys High School the patient and hard working Sisters and the good Priests May God bless thcm and their work' fzv '9 - 7 , v .
