Wz'll12r11z forcpb Lmulergmz 263 LYNN SHORE DRIVE, LYNN Lost in reverie, 1 dream a dream of days gone by. Mentally I catch a glimpse of my squirming through the primary and elementary grades, and emerging a graduate of one Saint Mary's school, only to take up my resi- dence in another. I recollect also that though I had been most reverently baptized William joseph, my pals chose to christen me Yo. Some of my time during high school was spent on the basketball court. For two years they kept me in reserve, then the otlicials of the Catholic League decided to ban me from the court because of my unusual ability Through these years I have learned to admire the Sisters and the standards they uphold and teach And so I leave these grounds with a spirit of gratitude in my heart for them and more especially for my parents whose wise choice accounts for my being graduated in the Class of Nincteen Hundred Forty six from Saint Mary s Boys High School Sherman Carl Larbua 8 BENNETT CIRCLE LYNN Leisurely puffing on my corncob I sit back to dwell on those happy memo ries of the events which brightened life at Salnt Mary s Dimly through the passage of time I w sion myself mixed up with dead uncles and home less cats in my Hrst Parents Night Performance More plainly I hear sounds of arguments and see myself at the debater s rostrum fighting each proposal set forth by my worthy opponents In this sphere it was my privilege to join with my colleagues in producing a championship team in nineteen hundred and forty five Dances have always been my favorite social activity With the grace of an elephant I glided across the waxed floor always in perfect rhythm with the music Occasionally the orchestras couldnt keep time with me With music and arguments ringing in my ears I turn to face the world Plazlqu Edward Laubnw' FAYETTI STREET LYNN the recollections of my happy high school life In my collection are jewels of the senior drama when I played a millionaire with only a dime in my pocket or of my span as a budding politician in the sophomore and junior years when the boys shouted Impeach the president when I made a mistake Debating glitters also because it is made up of fun as well as tedious research and nervous anxiety There are dancing ,ew els also How could I forget my first attempt at a slow one when the music shifted in the middle to a jitterbug tempo? Thoughtfully I closc my little jewel case and reflect that an cpic of Philip and his deeds will never bc written but I hopc that it may yustly be recorded Hc was most grateful he appre ciated ca h jewel presented to him rm Y . . . . , , ' 9 , - . , I , . , . , 5 , The gems that glitter most brilliantly in my treasure chest of memories are 1 4 . . . . Robert Fmnczy Lauzon 8 ROGERS AVFNUE LYNN Upon completing eight years of delightful experxences and dnlngent study I was awarded a diploma from Saint Marys Grammar School Havmg heard that the hngh school was open to geniuses only I entered being con fident of my academic abrlnty I found Latin Spanish shorthand book keeping unable to keep my agile bram busy Thrnkmg rt only farr that the Samts should reap the benefits of my athletic prowess I threw my self wholeheartedly onto the field of sports Lxkmg baseball the best I undertook the small task of becoming a Bob Feller or a Bobby Doerr but finding these a little too strenuous was satrsned to play the lazy outfield m the form of a Babe Ruth My greatest thrill rn participating rn sports came when I played nn the Sportsman s Tournament as a member of the team of 1945 And now at the close of four fast movmg years I express my deep gratitude to the Sisters Robert fobn LeBlanc 200 LAFAYETTE STREET SALEM In the midst of a beautiful snow storm on December 14 1928 I was in truth announced by all the trumpets of the sky My first f1ve years spent nn the enpoyment of eating sleeping and havmg friendly squabbles with my five brothers were brought to an end all too soon for I was off to school Wliat an experlence' I dont know whlch was worse the f1rst week of school or the Schick test Almost as qurck as thought eight years dispatched themselves and a very rmportant milestone was left behind My coming to Saint Mary s was greatly due to my mother s determlnatlon that I be and I quote Schooled 10 something else besndes football My happy years here are now completed and I feel a llttle sad at leavlng the scene of so many fond memories As time pushes on through the years you may be sure that the example and teaching Ive had wrll always be an inspiration to me folm fofepla Lee I always thought that only birds and planes could fly but my stay at Samt Mary s has taught me differently It seems like only yesterday that I came here a chubby luttle freshman filled with the enthusnasm that only one so young can possess Samt Mary s Salem had been relleved by my departure only a few months previous Several decades of months flanked on all sides by the mtrncacles of high school followed With the last take off and flight things pepped up even more Now the mevltable landing has been made and consequently I must leave this well loved port to seek my for tune elsewhere My good luck success and happmess on the next flight xull be due largely to the sponsors of my maiden trip In return I wnslm them every blessing and joy 98 WASHINGTON SQUARE SALEM 525 n - 1 a . , , . 1 a 1 ' ' 1 1 1 ' .. - U - v . 1 Y . .
