Hefslaert Arthur Gardner k , , 2 ATKINSON STREET, LYNN If I had Alladin's lamp and the spell that went with it, my first wish would be to live again the days that I spent at Saint Mary's. I would want to sit once more in Room Seven and gaze around and see my classmates Among these a certain hockey captain, Mr. Zero, stands foremost in my mind. I would also like to wear again the Blue and Gold, and dart across the ice of the Skating Club and hear jack Warry, the greatest little man- ager and cheering section in the league, supporting us with his special cheers. I would like to don the spiked shoes and step anew onto the dia- mond for my Alma Mater. Yes, these days are gone, gone forever, never to return, but they will never die in my memory. And so, it is with a tear in my eye, that I express to the Sisters, Father Day, and my parents, my undying gratitude for their efforts with all of us. DamelFm1zcz.r Gemjl r 25 ARBIILIA STRFET SALEM Fortunately I have for my enjoyment lovely recollections of happy days spent with my splendid classmates Without these good pals I would often have become discouraged and dismayed Indeed nice friendships and pleas ant memories are inseparable from thought of life at Saint Mary s With intermittent stabs at Latin mathematics and the rest I vanquished round after round the obstacles of a classical course As the periods of my education ticked slowly onward I was reminded of a boxing match I knew that I must really try hard And so I did On this account I did not participate in school sports Nothing could interfere with my boxing away might and mam at the arts presented for conquest Consequently mine is now the role of a fearless graduate I step forth to pit my wits against al' that the battle of life presents Georgefobn Gunnlizg 48 SOUTHSIDE AVFNUE LYNN Until September of 1945 my life had been quite ordinary but fortunately I chose at this point to ,om the ranks ot Saint Mary s Now I am pleased to call myself a member of this graduating class of fine young men Pre nous to my taking this memorable step I had attended Classical High School where I made my letter in baseball and football and exen passed all my subjects From my earliest days I took an actne interest in sport and had in fact begun to consider myself quite an athlete I was 1lw'lys stopped cold in these speculations howcver by the ironical sallies of my eight brothers and slstcrs I hopc that this year I have dlsproxed their hastily formed impressions of my athletic prowess I write this with the highest regard for their opinions and earnestly thank them for their erst while criticism I am also grateful to the Sisters and the boys for making life here at Saint Mary s so happy tw 'X . . . , I D . . , 9 1 . . . . . . . . , . .lfllllllf A1lfb0797 Hzckty 9 ASPEN STREET, LYNN With the words of the wiseman- Smile and the world smiles with you, ringing in my ears, I left the seclusion of my home to begin school. In almost no time, my good teachers were aware that they had to contend with a very unusual boy, and as a result my parents made many an obliga- tory trip to school. Nevertheless, the time soon arrived when I was to be graduated from Saint Patrick's Grammar School and pass on in search ot high honors at Saint Mary s Boys High My Erst two years were passed in talm serenity but the latter part of my stay was marred by many a scare particularly when report cards made their appearance It is time now for me to leave this scene of a very happy four year stay I go fully aware that because of the efforts of my deyoted parents and the wonderful Sisters l am prepared to mcet life with a smile with confidence and determination 19 CHASE STRl'l:T LYNIN If you viere in the habit of visiting Connery Gymnasium when the Blue and Gold of Saint Mary s was performing your eyes would have rested on a familiar landmark in the person of Charles I-Ioen Manager The three years that I have enjoyed this honor have unquestionably been the happiest in my life Whether I was on the court on the dance floor or in the class room my heart was always with Saint Mary s Even when I had a bad day in my scholastic studies or a run in with one of the teachers I was enyoying life I really love all that goes to make up Saint Marys but especially the Sisters and the fellows These fine teachers have done muci to make the rungs on my ladder of life golden May I never forget them' My parents have also contributed without reserve to this golden climb That I shall always be grateful is my fervent wish Rzcbam' N011 fame! 6 1 NASON ROAD SWAMPSCOTT Pushing aside the trig and physics that cluttered up my desk and saying a prayer for perseverance I began my autobiography once more Again this attempt seemed futile and probably bound for the waste basket I-Iow can the trials and joys of years be put into a few paragraphs? I queried After having found the rate of acceleration in physics and the log tan in trig a simple question like the above should hold no fears for me yet my mind was blank linally with a timely suggestion from my mother as to .1 start I began to vsrite As evcnts like my entrance as a sophomore my nearly destroying the laboratory when a yunior and my happy existence as a senior flooded my mind I potted them dovsn but recollections of yoys camc so fast that they could nuer be recorded in such a short space Somcvx hat disappointed then I submit this feeble attempt at .1 masterpiece L22 Y . . , . . s a r .
