The world has undergone many changes, and it is into this world that the seniors of nineteen fifty are graduating: a world filled with loss of faith in God. But we can do something about this, for with Christ's standards of living we can change the world. We have equipped ourselves with a knowledge of our reli- gion and have resolved to put our Catholic philosophy into action. We have studied and dis- tinctly evaluated each subject, for it is our duty to learn and do good with our knowledge. In social affairs we have kept uppermost in our minds the teachings of good social living and the love of our neighbor. A strong Christian spirit of fair play and sportsmanship has pre- vailed in our athletic activities. With this preparation and with the grace of God, we can change the world into a happier place. May ll, 1385 February 7, 1950 Twelve years ago when the class of '50 entered the first grade, the recently- eonsecrated bishop was installed here in the new diocese of Saginaw. Now as we are making ready to depart, our beloved bishop has left us. Bishop Murphy worked zealously and earned the right to be eulogized for establishing a well- ordered diocese. Wfe dedicate this section of the book to the blessed memory of him who was our first bishop and our good shepherd. 4
