Rositcz Mrs. Hairopoulos keeps the office records neat and orderly. Without her help, college entrance could become difficult. She also presides ably over a study hall. One of Mrs. Schumacher's most important iobs is the organization of L.H.L. She often works at this iob herself. She is also keeper of the bookstore and friend to many. Mrs. Hairopoulos Mrs, Schumacher The employees are a vital part of the school community. A multitude of tasks are performed by them daily which make our hours in school successful. Only those in close contact with these people realize the hard work and time that go into these often seemingly mean- ingless iobs. Delicious lunches from the cafete- ria give the students an uplift half- way through the day when their spirits begin to drag. These gra- cious ladies show infinite patience with serving their large families their meals. Hans Schumacher 5 ,rx 'tilt li, fsi 3 ' EMPLOYEES Mrs. Sobecki, Mrs. Gorski, Mrs. Gemchok, Mrs. McFadden. To keep the home fires burning is only one of the jobs of the custo- dians. Without these men, our school would be practically non- existent. These are the men who give their services long after the rest have gone home and forgot- ten the rigors of the school day. l7 Dan Weisbecker f 15112 -S --53227 fhsfieif' iiligilyirffifiiifiiti..W. ss: rs we :wi 1 , im fr,:'.,--1'1isfif,,g, s aggy at wr,.-.wi .is titgreidixli.-fs-11,51152 -TM! 1 Z. Just as the sunrise symbolizes the be- ginning of the Longest Day, so does the Freshman year symbolize the start- ing point of our part in life as students. Freshman year is a year of firsts. The first time to hear such words uttered as America est pulchra , the Hrst time to see the dancing lights of the school's annual bonfire or the hearing of the yells ofthe first pep session. Freshman year is the time for new dis- coveries. The time to experience the new methods of changing classes, the time of finding the many doors open- ing into the labyrinthian halls of the school, the new ways of unlocking your lockers five to the right, back left to thirty-five and then on to seventeen. Freshman year is the time for looking up to others. Looking up to those mighty seniors hovering over at the Frosh-Senior mixer or grinning and bearing the carrying of all those books which you carried in reverence to the upperclassmen. All classes, even the best, must be led. The ample and able leaders who have taken charge of their Freshman class this year are: Paul Johnson, president, Cathy Ackil, vice-president, Jim Early, treasurer, and Jean Florent, secretary. C. They seek to find a real problem and then work to get it solved by the best way possible. Their meetings are held as informal discussions, so that each member gets the chance to express his views and opinions. Much is accomplished by these students because they are interested in what they are doing. 72 lnvestigating and promoting are the key words in talking about the Marian Club, for this organization takes an active interest in religious vocations. They are concerned with finding out information on the sisterhoods and missions. Butt more important, they promote and pray for an increase in vocations. His personality radiated warmth and love-an inevitable result of his wholehearted living. Then a tragic car accident took his life on April 23. The whole school and especially the sophomores felt deeply the tragic event. With hearts full of love and sorrow they sang the English requiem at noon on Tuesday, April 27, the second day of retreat. His classmates were servers and pallbearers. Larry's love of his band, the Chessmen, caused him to learn not only his own part but also everyone else's part as well: Ya know, guys, we gotta sound great! Surely the music of his life will forever echo in our souls. 127 O MN' J ff 2 , KJ, X2,f'gjJO5 CPD? V I my V ww 0 4,1 ,Q, W D6 K 1. WM' ,W WL jx X, f T , f' 2, fy J Y, .
