She has a cheerful disposition and has become famous because of her ability to be always in and out of trouble. Neverthe- less, we have enjoyed Marjorie's friendship and appreciate her good work. Eugene Hohler is another of the gradu- ates who was with us from the beginning. He possesses a quick wit and is ever ready for a joke. He has his serious moments but they are few and far between. He has ac- quired during the past year, besides learning, a number of feminine admirers in the lower classes. Bernice Ade is one of our less serious students. She is full of fun and laughterg wherever there are good times to be had you will be sure to find Bernice In spite of this she m nages to make average grades in he-' studies Earl Ponder is dependable and always willing to render help where It is needed He has 1 pleasing personality and has always been an ldeal friend He IS the smallest among the boys ln the class but it has been said that smallest men rise to great heights Virginia Hohler is a friend dear to all and agreeable Her ex er ready spirit to co operate has made her a valuable asset to the class She has proven her ability in athletics by playing three yeais on the team She is neat pleasant Joseph Burger was our staff artist and he has contrlbuted much help along those lines to the H1 Lltes Joe IS an all around good fellow and a likable agreeable class mate Virginia Schaefer one of the highest ran mg students of the Senior class has a dn po mon pleasing to everyone She is ready to make friends with everyone and also ready for fun at any time Her fax orxte studv is Shorthand in which she seems to get fax Ol able results John Wulfers is another of the graduates vs ho has persex ered through the twelxe year During the past year John has been the one - to give us the gong and we are sure that he has never fallen down on the job. Alma Stammer is a jolly, fun-loving friend who is always ready to offer assistance when it is needed. She seems to take a great interest in sports especially basketball and football. During high school our studies were many and varied. In the Freshman year we were introduced to many subjects hitherto unknown to us. Among them were Algebra, Civics, General Science, and that much talk- ed of and thoroughly disliked subject, Latin. Since then we found that Latin is a great advantage to us as it is the origin of many everyday English words. We thought the Latin hard but when introduced to Geome- try in our Sophomore year we changed our minds In the Junior year we took up com mercial work Bookkeeping Typing and Shorthand All seemed to like it except when trial balances in Bookkeeping acted stubborn and refused to balance In our Senior year ue struggled with Chemistry a very interest mg but difficult subject Some of the stu dents took American Problems and acquired a knowledge of the problems confronting our country today Our social activities included many suc cessful partles and entertainments Coming back last September we had one thought uppermost in our minds reaching the long sought for goal graduation haxe striven to do everything possible to reach it It has been a busy year with extra 'ictivities as the continuation of the school paper the H1 Lites our play Go Slow Mary our annual year book our trip and other problems but whole hearted coopera tion on the part of all members of the class have made it a success With this synopsis of the class of 39 and an expression of our deep appreciation and gratitude to our teachers for their help and guidance we leave the portals of St Mary and join the ranks of the Alumni It is our ferx ent hope in the future exer to do all m our power to further the interests of our Alma Mater , !
