.kj ,. t , s gifs N 'fr s , 5 Thread OF Life One of the Greek legends had it thai man's life was life a thread in the hands three fates---Clotho was the spinner of li Lachesis determeind its length, and Atropr was the inevitable fate who cut the thread God is the maker of life and it is we who can determine the stuff from which it is made. Here at St. Mary's we have all the means necessary to develop good Cath olic men out of the boys who enter the school doorsg a program of studies for the c velopment of the mind, sports for the body and above all, the Catholic atmosphere ar teaching so essential to the growth of Chris in the soul. The students in the Sodality d Our Lady are achieving a fuller and finer development in becoming Catholic men. The Brothers of Mary, realizing the impor- tance of Mary in the lives of each of their students, strongly recommend the Sodality to all students---more are joining each yea and many go on to consecrate themselves fully to Mary as Sodalists. These threads of life are strong in the grace of God and safe in the hands of their loving mother, Mary. Of course it is obvious to all Chris- tians that the life of man is without end. lllumined with the grace of God freceived through the hands of Maryj, it lives on in a heavenly splendor, or, without this grace it lives on in death which is hell. This book to a greater or lesser degree tells the story of St. Mary's and the student it forms for service to God and country. T11 school influences the student's character to the extent that he wishes and wills. In cooperation with the parents who in many ways teach more than any school can, the faculty helps each boy to shape his thread of life. On the next page we see the par- ishes which are included in St. Mary's school district for the school year 1956 -57. We begin our story from this point .......
