Sports writers R. Roseman, G. Divis. and H. Peters stand around the editor-in-chief, Pat Grimes. St. Mary's school paper, The Clarion, was bigger and better than ever this year. Due to the expert direction of its moderator, Bro. Joseph Uvietta and the work of its staff. Heading the staff were P. Grimes, editor- in-chief, and M. Everding, assistant-editor. The editorial staff consisted of G. J' ines, N. Plumpe, and D. Schmidt. Sports were covered by R Roseman Qsports editorj and the sports staff which was composed of E. Bell, G. Divis, H. Peters, and R Szevery, Coverage of school events was taken care of by the news feature staff which included T. McCarthy, C. Deiters, T. For- restal, S. Bierrnann, D. Goughenour, R. Richter, and .T . Domachowski. Associate editor Mart Everding has the attention of the staff members. R. Szevery, N. Plumpe, D. Goughenour, fon his leftj, and E, Bell. R, Richter, G, Jines, ion his rightb. The pictures appearing in The Clarion were taken by R Finnegan and B. Barnes, both members of the Camera Club. P. Grimes, T. T. Forrestal. and S, Biermann took care of transporting the articles to Martin Printing Co. where the paper goes to press and they brought the finished copies back to schooL Circulation manager for the school paper was B. Student Council with the assistance of Bro.Louis Reile 1d Bro. Edward Jach, the Student Council is been instrumental in originating many xjoyable activities. This year a number of firsts were :credited to the Student Council. The Ring ance for the Seniors was the first of its kind the history of St. Mary'5, The assemblies ive been in control of the Student Council td Senior Officials. Under the leadership the officers, the student body has enjoyed successful intramural program consisting' basketball, softball, and for the first time ' soccer. Other achievements were the trchase of ajuke box, improvements in the .feteria, sock hops, skating parties, and e sale of booster buttons and ribbons. Annual iaff Yearbook work involves much work and those who eserve special mention for faithful service are the allowing: Don Ricciotti, the art editor showed tnagination and ingenuity in making layouts and de- ign. Some of his best work went into the layouts +n the senior pages, Yearbook sales werein the very apable hands of business manager, Ger ry Paunovich, 'he photography work---and there was plenty of it--- ras competently handled by Rex Finnegan, JimBarta, lon F rerker and Robert Vierlirig. Sophomorestudents vrote much of the copy and the experience they learn- d this year will help to improve the yearbook in iture years, Rutkowski.
