The Sodalist is not only a man of prayer but a man of action. Grace is aspiritual energy which must have an outlet. Judging from the number of activities which the Sodality has successfully sponsored, the St. Mary's Sodalists and loyal children of Mary and she is bestowing graces in abundance up- on them. Two truly remarkable works of the Sodality were the Mission Rally and Exhibit, and the Christmas Canned Food Drive. On November 30, the Sodalists of St. Mary's performed a man-sized job. With the guidance and assistance of the brothers and the Sodality moderators, the Sodalists sponsored a Mission Rally and Exhibit which netted well over 31,000.00 for the Catholic Missions of the World. As is usual around the Christmas season, the Sodalists sponsored the annual Christmas drive for the needy of St. Louis. With the devoted backing of the student body the Sodality collected over 30,000 items of food, clothing and toys for the needy of this area. l. As a freshman, a mem- ber first proves himself worthy of the position of a Postulant, and later he is advanced to the stage of Aspirant. In his late sophomore orearlyjunior year he is advanceda step higher and becomesa Probation- ist. Finally, at the end of his junior year or his.early senior year, he makes his act of consecration and be- comes a Sodalist in the Sodality of Our Lady. This year the Sodalists were advanced on three different occasions. The first in December, the sec- ond in February and another in May.
