Many celebrities are present at this momentous occasion including the entire class of 'L9, all cf when were instrumental in the erection of thls building. Now, I'll circulate through the crowd and point out some of them for the bene- flt of you televlslon audience who were unable to make St. Mary's today. Over to one slde I see David DeTaeye, the architect who drew the plans for this building, talking to Richard Brechar,our American Ambassador to Holland. Just coming in ls Miss Mary Jo Soesbe who has recently compiled a group of philosophical essays for publi- cation Maklng rather a large group are Patrlcla Dolan, Alice lestman, Dorothy Donahey, Charles Hess and Darlene Sadler All of whom are connected in some way with the world of entertainment Pat and Alice have continued the harmonizing which they were noted for ln high school and new perform on a weekly radio broadcast Charles now operates a roller rink where Dorothy ls a skating instructor Darlene is marrled to a well known singer of stage and screen Mary Lou Anthony and her husband, who own a chaln of novelty stores, have been seen moving about talking to various former classmates Among those coming great distances to be here today are Monica McAndrews, Agnes Barry, and Marilyn Macke Agnes ls a Red Cross Nurse ln China while Monica and Marllyn,now of New York,have posltlons on the staff of the Ladies Home Journal The St Ambrose Coach, Robert Danlelaen and his wife, the former Marianne Boos, are admiring this gigantic structure which is to be host to so many sports events One of the greatest contributors to the building fund was Joseph Langan, sue cessful business man, who is here today with Dr John Lenaghan M D and Dr Robert Pelegrln D Raymond Rowland, operator of flourishing coffee shop, is enjoying a reunion with two of his old classmates, Eugene Tack and Donald Mulder Gene and Don sell and repair all General Motors Cars Joan Banker, Sarah Burdick and their -1 1- Il: l X ,ff 1 W . Dr. Joan Walsh and Iarle McKenna, who is a book reviewer for the Chicago Tribune, are busily chatting while they walt for their friend Jeanette Sanderson who has recently published her flrst novel. Leo Frett and Steve Jaeger are examining every point of the car servicing business while Kenneth Droste, e lawyer for the Standard Oil Co., stands by listening and ready to volunteer legal information. Having left thehr exclusive dress shop for the day, Jacqueline Morgan and Janet Banker tell Joan Costello just what the latest fashion will be. Miss Costello is e featured singer with Lawrence Welk's band. Another interested listener to this conversation is Donald O'Ne1l who is the new proprietor of Van Allen's Department Store.
