The custodians work hard to keep this school in perfect condition. The well-balanced meals that are served to us are due to the efforts put forth by the generous women who work in the cafeteria. These are the people who make our school a school of which we can be proud. We ask God to grant them continued success in their various duties, 43 k'N NOW f J 9 1. 6 L 5 x ' Y .' 44 1 Q '29, The Most Reverend Bishop Flody Begun The Most Reverend Bishop John Krol Our thanks and express gratitudes toyou, Your Ex- cellency, for your intense interest in our welfare botlz of body and soul. You have always pro- vided for our souls a clear presentation of the funda- mentals of Catholic Philos- ophy, text books which through their pages have made pre sent in our studies high Catholic ideals, and lastly, fine teachers whose abilities are known and re- cognized. Hls Excellency the Most Reverend Archblshop Edward F. Hoban. V For our physical welfare we have received a fine sta- dium which more then ade- quately fulfills our need for a recreational program. May the Lord shower His blessings upon you and pro- vide you with the grace to ful- fill your duties as our Shep- herd. Also our sincere thanks to Rt. Rev. Monsignor Clarence Elwell for the fruits produced by his hard Work as Superin- tendent of Schools. Rt. Msgr. Clarence Elwell Rt. Rev. Msgr. John J. Price The Colonel , a leader in the army of his God and his country, has been the eyes of our spiritual life here at Saint Mary for ten years. In those ten years our school has blossomed from a small parish school in an accredited North Central High School and has long hard hours ofwork, borne fruits in the form of improvement not only in the school building, but in students and faculty. Though the fulfillment of his pastoral duties have been tedious, our beloved Monsignor has never forgotten his children and passes through them, ac- konwledging the presence of each. Just glance through these pages and see what is there, The Queen's Teens have really been working this year - two plays and the publication of the Missal Marker . The all-important seniors have dedicated their future lives to Mary on December 8, Their rings were blessed to remind them to act as Catholics always! Yes, this is truly a Catholic school, We are here for one purpose - sanctification through education, We are confident that if we follow your Little Way we will have learned all that is necessary, For then, we will be true followers of Christ, KT I X' 41-x Q4 L i il for .er Q I Q 0 0 lx To Jesus Through Mary To show her appreciation, Mary, played by Marguerite Koch, places her hand on the head of Her Juggler , Jude Eberhardt, the monk who could show his love only be en- tertaining Her. V UNDERCLASSMEN Dear St Catherine, lt's rather surprising how quickly we grow up during our four years in high school. We freshmen have all we can do to get acquainted with the school, As sophomores we began to grow up, Things that we never thought were very necessary seemed to be tak- ing first place in our lives, As juniors we begin to take over things - important things like the junior senior prom. Yes, we mature into young womanhood and manhood in only a few years, Many are the ex- periences of youth, many beautiful, many mischiev- vous, many even sad. SPORTS s .l Dear St, Sebastian, The athletes of St, Mary's have had a good season in football, basketball, swimming and baseball this year, We have learned to meet success and failure in the same light. The value of persistence and the necessity of co-operation has become clear to us. Using you as our model, we have had the courage to persevere in those last seconds of the game even when we were losing, We have learned that true success isnot measured in a win-1oss column, but it is de- termined by the spirit the team puts forthr ? . ' Dear St. Cecilia, Our band and choral have really done a terrific job this year, and the spirit they have shown could never truly be measured, Don't be alarmed if you hear some odd-sounding music floating up to your heavenly door steps, It is just our jazzy band prac- ticing some new hit tunes for the next 'all-important' pep rally and football game. Of course, we all think our choralis the greatest too and are proud to say that in competition we were rated excellent. With your help our choral made it over those rough notes, and our band marched on to victory. This progress chart was a source of both joy and frustration throughout the year. The Birth of the Bluebook A yearbook isn't made up of paper, ink and a cover. Much more than this goes into the com- piling of a record of your school year. The efforts of the students pictured on these pages, the long hours after school, the constant clicking of a shutter, and the en- ergy expended running around the school and over to the rectory are all a part of what went into your Bluebook. The staff had a lot of fun throughout the year and received a banquet and picnic as a well- de served reward for their labors. -at.
