Our Lady Welcomes All To Saint M ary's Rays from the candle ot her love have lighted the pathway tor those who have gone before using this same beam for guide, we follow April 1957, Monsignor Iohn Edward Kiernan blessed the new statue of Our Lady ot the Assumption. Representatives trom all classes were present. Mon- signor spoke to them about the advantages and importance ot devotion to our Lady. Hereatter, this shrine will remind all who enter the school that it is dedicated in a special way to Mary Immaculate. It was our privilege to start our school year, on September ll, 1957, with the Mass ot Holy Ghost. Monsignor Kiernan offered the Mass tor our success. 8

It is not otten that We can be thankful to the communists tor anything, but, looking up to the heavens to catch a glimpse ot Sputnik, We are reminded that there is another world-a spiritual World-and that we are the children ot both these worlds. Bishop Walter W. Curtis thus addressed 2,000 CYO members who took part in aspecial Holy Hour at Sacred Heart Cathedral on October 27 to mark the opening ot National Catholic Youth Week. Groups from more than 100 parish CYO units attended the devotions.
