Our Class Ring L cuss MW cskillmu 95561997 6' ' sl . f 'E - 2 957 s f 1? N ff G 1 I sohofll sunt WW nigh sy c JBY5 Elizabeth' Ne' 1 . ,A 1 . ,, ..... ..., n x fi I mmkmiswmsc 1- was-ss: The class ring of Saint Mary's is designed as a dual memento of Our Lady and of our school of which she is Patroness. Its centerpiece is a sparkling spinel stone of blue. This is the color appropriate to Mary, because it symbolizes constancy, fidelity and truth. Blue, and the gold of the ring are in accord with the traditional colors in which Mary is depicted in ecclesiastical art. A beautiful silhouette of Mary in garments of simple splendor, her hand over her Immaculate Heart, is the foremost image of the right side, or shank of the ring. Her haloed head is circled with stars. Thus is recalled the ancient prophecy of the Apocalypse: A woman clothed with the sun . . . and on her head a crown ot twelve stars. In dual tribute to her purity and Chastity, two lilies in full bloom appear as traditional symbols of these attributes of Our Lady. The left side or shank is symbolic of Saint Mary's School. Beneath the identifying monogram the circular crest displays the school seal. Finally, surmounting the monogram is the regal crown, a recurrent emblem of the theme of the ring, to honor our Lady as Queen. 107
