The graduating class of '81 remembers with deep affection and appreciation a teacher who, for more than ten years, has been a constant inspiration to everyone at Saint Mary’s Hall. This gentleman tried most unsuccessfully to conceal from us his very deep affection for his students as people and his real concern for our advancement in knowl- edge, wisdom, and virtue. To all about him, he has set an example of loyalty, courage, and devotion to duty which will inspire us in the days to come. We take pride and joy in dedicating La Reata 1981 to Colonel Sterling R.
