TRIBUTE From the bottom of our heart, we, the class of l953, wish to express our warmest thanks and appreciation to you, not only as our headmistress, but also as our own Auntie Phyl. Our gratitude is im- measurable, for with each day comes the realization of the innumerable ways in which you are always thinking of us, planning for us, and worry- ing about us. Though it is the big things that are often most noticed, it is the small things that mean so much, for, where would we all be without your wise counsel, your broad perspective, and your deep understand- ing. As a headmistress you are pre-eminent because you understand girls. As a friend you are invaluable because you understand us. So with pride and affection we extend to you, Miss Newman, this tribute.
