Text from Pages 1 - 60 of the 1952 volume:

THE CASTELLAN 1952 ST. MARVS SEMINARY JUNIOR COLLEGE . . . presents its annual publication, THE CASTELLAN, as proof that a Sem Fern ' s day is a busy one. We Point With Pride To Miss Betty Carol Clutts, with gratitude and esteem, the CASTELLAN staff of 1951-52 dedicates this issue. As head of the Social Science department, she has been helpful, sympathetic, and a constant inspiration to all her students through her example. She does not need to wear her Phi Beta Kappa key to impress us of her well-informed and interesting mind. She has given valuable time in special classes for those who need additional help. Miss Clutts has not only helped students in scholarship; she has been senior class sponsor and has organized the Current Events Discussion Group, and has made it an im- portant and worthwhile campus organization. At all times Miss Clutts upholds the aims and traditions of St. Mary ' s and has proved herself to be a fine teacher, understanding counselor, and a true friend to all her stu- dents. We are proud to acknowledge our appreciation here. As senior class advisor, Miss Clutts could be found in the midst of student activity. THEV KEEP THE WHEELS GRINDING SMOOTHLY Above: It ' s conference time again [or Miss Russell, Miss Verra, and Miss Rotha. Right: The candid camera turns up when you least suspect. Left: Miss Chance and Miss Sandner are plotting to order egg plant!!! Below left: Could it be that Miss Custis and Miss Clutts are plotting the rise of the South? That gleam in Miss Clutts ' eye means she ' s up to something! Below right: After a busy day of classes. Miss Morton, Miss Stickney, Miss Harms, and Miss McDougall find time for relaxation. Bottom: It looks as if Miss Smith, Miss Richelderfer, Miss Mechling, and Miss Bog- gan are at it again! There must be a prank brewing here. GEORGIA BENNETT, Class President Brunswick, Md.
