PRE SIDE T SAINT MARY'S COLLEGE In his fifth year as chief administrator of Saint Mary's Brother Michael looks forward to the comple- tion of both the library and the dormitories, part of the century ll program. It is his hope that through the expansion program Saint Mary's will increase its role as educator of free men. BR U ALBERT FSC Recipient of this years Dlocesan Achieve ment award Br Albert has long been the friend of the student. He IS the example of the great Chrls- tian humanitarian, willing to bear not only those crosses which God gives him to bear, but also those of others to lighten their burden. 1 , ' Y N5 A A DEAN OF THE COLLEGE The man behind the teaching staff at Saint Marys is Dr. Pollock. Having the responsibility to uphold the tradition that Saint Maryls is one of the great small liberal arts colleges, Dr. Pol- lock has attempted in his years at Saint Mary's to introduce new faculty members who will live up to the tradition. Rafeal Pollock ln his second year as dean of our secondary cre- dential program Mr. Brown has proven to be an able administrator. DEAN SECONDARY CREDENTIAL l 1 E: . His personal interests and sincerity which he manifests in his action towards the students is characteristic of a Christian Brothers dedication. STUDE T CHAPLAIN T Completing his second year at Saint Mary's Fr, Lester has been a great success on our campus. He has put every effort in making his position useful to the members of the Student Body. He has become the true friend and Willing advisor for all types of problems. Brother Xavier has again been Working hard on the Century Il program and his efforts were not unrewarded. We see the finish of our new library and the start of two new dorms. Through the efforts of Junior Greg Aloia, the Regents granted permission for the organiza- tion of a football club on a low scale basis. Working solely on a budget of donated funds the team has developed rapidly. Coach George Galli, formerly Director of recruiting at Utah State, held a spring practice with a turnout of fifty-five candidates, the result being an opti- mistic outlook for the return of football to Saint Mary's. The Coaches, which for the most part are donating their time to the squad are, from left: Tom Foster-Utah State, Vince Darone-San Jose State, Walt Dathe-U.C.L.A., John Owings-Chico State, and Head Coach George Galli-U.S.C. All of the coaches worked very hard to give the team the basic plays and moves which they will need when practice begins in earnest in the fall. lj li-Z A nfs: rr '1-'lAAr ' I Atl: 1 1 .xl . .jg in . yy . 4,1 X .V ,, L if J l' ,V i I A XX limba ' . This class of individuals was finally pulled together under the leadership of their president, Ralph Gallucci. A tangible result of their new found organization was the faculty basket- ball game put on for the benefit of theFlorentine Relief Fund. In May, sixteen men ran for six class offices. Such interest in student government is both unusual and gratifying. Next year, with a year's experience behind them, the class of 1970 will be a valuable asset to St. Mary's.
