When we returned 1n the fall of 1951 we were cons1dered upperclassmen We had a larger cholce of subjects 1nclud1ng typewmtmg U S h1story Enghsh journal1sm speech Lat1n and shorthand The twenty seven of us comb1ned our talents to present the three act comedy You Can't Take It W1th You ' We selected On Top of the World as our prom theme Th1s year Mlchael Mullen Phyll1s Er1ckson and Dorothy Schmaltz were elected to the class offlces S1ster Mary Mercy was our class advlser September 1952 found us as sen1ors 1n St Mary's There were th1rty one of us the largest class ever to be grad uated from St Mary s Our subjects xncluded problems of Amer1can democracy bookkeepmg chem1stry geometry Enghsh rel1g1on and home and fam1ly l1v1ng In add1t1on to these subjects we were kept busy on the school paper and the yearbook Mlchael Mullen was aga1n elected class pres1 dent Grayce Vetsch and Lou1se Senger asslsted hmm S1ster Mary Ursula was our adv1ser Each year we made a sp1r1tual retreat In our sen1or year lt was conducted by Father Raymund Scheller of Grand Forks Our baccalaureate exerc1ses were held on Sunday May Z4 w1th Father Maur1ce Jaeger as speaker We were graduated 1n St Josep-h's Church on Thursday May 28 w1th H15 Excellency B1shop Leo Dworschak del1ver1ng the address Class motto What we are to be we are becommg Class flower L1ly of the valley Class colors Old rose and s1lver 7 I . 1 o Q I 1 I 1 1 . - - ll ' 1 1 Il un . . 1 1 . . , , . . , . . - . . Our subjects 1ncluded general sclence, general busmess, Engllsh, or1entat1ons, c1t1zensh1p, rel1g1on, and Latln. In September, 1950, we returned to St. Mary's as sopho mores, more conf1dent and advanced We had lost three members of our class, but had gamed three, so there were aga1n twenty n1ne of us. Thls year we chose Engllsh, re11g1on, algebra, b1o1ogy, Lat1n, and world h1story as our subjects. Colette DeVany led our class wxth S1ster Mary Margaret as adv1ser.
