Sr Jeanne of the Rosary was class advisor Our elans of- ficers were: President, Cecils Germain) Vice President, Gerard Filion; Secretary Claire Lafontalne; Treasurer, Florence Filion. That year we were in charge of the annual Hallowe'en Party The following year there were 22 enrolled Sophomores with Sr. Jeanne of the Rosary as class advisor To our regret she was recalled to Colebrook in January, leaving the Sophs without a homeroom teacher. Our class officers were: President, Claire Lafontalne; Vice President, Gerard Filion; Secretary, Rita Oregoire; Treas- urer, Florence Filion The most festive affair on the agenda for the Sophomore year was the annual Christmas Party . That year some Sophs took part in the CCIL Play Contest They were Maurice Bedard, Henry Cooley, and Helen Hogue September '51 found 20 Juniors back to S.M.A. Sr. Robert was class advisor. It was hard to believe that our ideals and ambitions were becoming realities Our class officers were: President, Claire Lafontalne) Vioe President, Gerard Filion) Secretary, Geraldine Cayea; Treasurer, Florence Filion. Four Juniors, Pearl, Rita, Florence, sad Claire were Varsity Cheerleaders That same year Claire Lafontalne and Maurice Bedard represented S.M.A. in the annual CCIL Social Studies Contest which won for it the second-place title. Several Juniors took part in the Senior Play entitled, The Tower Room Mystery. During the oourse of the year we held cupcake sales, our traditional Junior Day, and a Junior Dance All these activis ties were to raise money for our much anticipated trip to H.I.C. and Washington, D.C. In the latter part of June we motored to Whlteface Mountain for our Junior v Trip So ended another successful year bringing us closer to our goal, graduation. •15- We were SENIORS at last! Sr. Marie Odlle was our class achrlsor. The class elected Claire Lafontaine, President? Gerard Fllion, Vioe President; Pearl Lafon- taine. Secretary; Florence Fllion, Treasurer In September we gave a Welcome Par- ty for tbs Freshmen. A very successful food sale was held at Pearl s Department Store. The annual Senior Play, under the able direction of Sr. Robert, took place In November In which three Seniors took part. Th were Rita GregoIre, Pearl La- fontaine, and Florence Fllion. Bernadette Guay, our post-graduate companion, also had a role In it. Pour Seniors held the major offices in the Sodality. Pearl, Rita, Florence, and Claire were again eleoted Varsity Cheerleaders. Florence par- ticipated in our newly-organised S.M.A. Band as a trumpet player. Doug LaValley and his Western Star Ranch Boys furnished the music at our Senior Dance, which was very successful. We have outlined the outstanding events of our high school years. Each had to be planned and carried out, calling forth the cooperation of the class members. Important habits of leadership, teamwork, self-control, and of Catholic living were being unknowingly developed into each one of us. Guiding hands were always ready to help us, and they were those of our teach- ers. After expressing thanks to Reverend Father Desrosiers, and to Reverend Father McCasland, we want to voice our deep appreciation to the Faculty of St. Mary's, as well as to all the Sisters who have in some way contributed to our happy school days. GRADUATION, which lies just around the corner, will launch our happy class out of the quiet harbor of St. Mary's into the billowy sea of life. a -16- Science The Underelassnen are concerned primarily with acquiring knowledge and these basic principles that will aake then responsible, oooperatiTe, and ChristUke ambers of society.
