President, Bernadette Guay; Secretary, June Goven; Treasurer, Helen Lafontaine. Some of us came up in the Sodality world. Helen was chosen Prefect and several of ua were committee chairmen. The approach of Christmas caused a flurry of activity and excitement be- cause our class was in charge of the annual High School Christmas Party. St. Mary's won first place in the speaking contest by George's rendition of Casey at the Bat. All 14 Juniors considered that year just 100 t perfect. Sister Marie Odile was class advisor, and the class officers were Helen La- fontaine as President, George Hinerth as Vice President, Jean Filion as Secretary, and June Goven as Treasurer. Many of our class meet- ings were spent in planning activities to raise money for our Senior trip. We had a Junior Dance and the traditional Junior Day. At Eas- ter Gisele Trepanier was unable to return to SMA because of the ill- ness of her mother. Two others, Mary Lou and Jacqueline Coulombe en- tered the Senior Class. In April of the same year, James Barbeau, a classmate from kindergarten days, was seriously injured in an automo- bile accident, and was unable to return to school for two months. That June our class Journeyed to Howe Caverns with Father McCasland to see something that only God could have planned made. At last we were Seniors J And the year promised to be a very pleasant one when we discovered that Sr. Marie Odile was to be with us again as class advisor. The class elected Aurianne Bechard Presi- dent, Audrey Babbie Vice-President, Agnes Brown Secretary, and Loretta Coache Treasurer. The first thing on our agenda for the year was Initiation. Our class trip to New York and Washington came next. A very successful food sale was held at Adrian's Engraving Shop. A Spiritual Retreat was scheduled for October under the guidance of Father Adrian. It is doubtful that anyone who really made that retreat will ever forget those three days of silence, deep thought, closer communion with God, and the charm and sincerity of Father Adrian. In November misfortune again knocked at our door. Bernadette Guay suffered a compound frac- ture of the right leg. We missed her in 1 our activities. F e b- ruary brought along a Senior Dance and a 3-Act Play entitled The Tower Room Mystery, directed by Sr. Robert. Again George received the first place plaque in the Speaking Contest, the Basketball team was second in the League, and Luncheon for Six took second place in the one-act play contest. Five of the six players were Seniors. Class Night, Graduation, and our trip to Washington will crown these four years of work, prayer, and play. Now we truly realise that in ourselves, our future lies.
