On extreme right our much loved Pastor Right Reverend Louis D. Berube awaits his turn at the shovel...This ceremony, in which we enjoyed an active part, was the year'e greatest historic event in the North Country. Friends of all faiths were present. That day also initiated a new fiscal year for the 'MarianU. Illllnla' 'L5H?i?' FOREWORD Our new Cathedral is nearly completed. This great edifice will last for years. It will fulfill the purpose for which it is being built-to house our God.We anxiously watch it grow each day,and as we do,1te prog- ress speaks to us the story of our own progress, our mental, moral, physical and spiritual growth of the past year. The structures we have been erecting have developed during the past year...foundatione of love, loyalty and learning have become strongsr..the framework of our future lives has grown taller, broader, and more in- teresting through the happy memories which we picture in these pages as we build our 1951 Marian. The finished structures will vary according to our talents, and our new Cathedral in as emf p u.alllmmn- rf few months of progress and again Bishop. priests, and people, including ourselves, marched to the next great event which marked an important chapter in our progress...the laying of the corneretone...And down through the years our children and grandchildren can look on that cornerstone with honest pride: 'When daddy Cor motherj back in l95l...' af' ig lvffogffefs 6lCfJl'6V66! llc ouglo X196 but like the great temple of God, our Cathedral, each of us must fulfill the designs of the Divine Architect and be a living temple of God. Each of ue Knows that NThere is waiting a work where only his hands can avail: And so, if he falters, a chord in the music will fail. He may laugh to the sxy, he may lie for an hour in the sun: But he dare not go hence till the labor appointed is done. To each man is given a marble to carve for the wall: A stone that is needed to heighten the beauty of all: And only his soul has the magic to give it a grace: And only his hands have the cunning to put it in place.n ni KWH' Ng -:Maxx ' we N. ri L QN.
