7ce44men RATION BOOK ONE On September 3, 1942, ration book one was issued to the Class of '46 in the form of Initiation. We accepted this book and carried on filling it with many activities. STAMP I-Initiation In the tlrst week of our Freshmen Year the Sen- iors initiated us. They served refreshments and entertained us with a dance. SJTAMP ll-Class Elections President, Donald Murray: Vice President, Anna Seymourg Treasurer, Harold Doe: Secretary, Joan Smith. STAMP Ill-Raffle Successful class raffle of coal. Total receipts were 591. Stamp IV-Dance Our Hrst class dance was in October at which we gave away a door prize. STAMP V-Volley Ball Nancy McNamara, our captain, assembled a good volley ball team comprising Julia Donaleski. Marie LaFave, Mary O'Brien, Mary Catherine Mcfhellan, Judith Gotham, Betty Bean, Margaret Murray, Pa- ricia O'Ne11, Gloria McKee, Rita Robillard and Anna. Seymour. STAMP VI-Airplane Display We used stamp six for the building of model airplanes. Some of the Model airplanes were a P-38 Lockheed Lightning made by Jimmy Owens: A Ger- man Junker Stuka made by Frances Richards: Hawker Hurricane by Joe McKee 5 a flying fortress B-17 modeled by Jack Farley, a. British Defiant con- tributed by Joseph Dashnaw, and a British Spltiire made by Fred McDonald. STAMP Vll-Stamp Booth X. Jimmy Owens, John Costlgan, Fred McDon- ald, Joe McKee and .lack Farleyw proved them.- selves skilled carpenters in the construction of a de- fense stamp -booth which was decorated artistically by Julia Donaleski, Rita Robillard, Margaret Murray, Anna Seymour and Betty Bean. Among the pa- triotic stamp purchasers were: John Taver- nier, Helen Plumadore, Robert Donahue, Mar- garet Roshirt, Amy Burns, John Taylor, Leonard La- Pointe, Charles Tyo, Matthew Roshirt and Barbara Boyer. STAMP Vlll-For God and Country Anna Seymour, Gloria Lopez, Judith Gotham, Mary Woods, Pat 0-'Neil, Mary Catherine McLellan and Margaret Murray made scapulars at Christmas time for our boys in the armed forces. STAMP IX-Our Patriotic Family-A One-Act Play our Social play written In our Schools-at-War Program Science Class contributed a patriotic and directed by Gloria Lopez and presented for As- sembly. Taking part were Robert LaVenture, Mary Catherine McLellan, as the parents: and Donald Murray, Milo LaValley, Nancy' McNamara, Gertrude Cooke, Kathryn Barr and Pat O'Neil as the children. RATION BOOK TWO On January 4, 1943, we received ration book two. Beginning again we filled it with many activities trying to accomplish more than in the first book. Eight Points -'Honor Roll At the mid-year the Freshmen had the highest percentage on the Honor Roll. These included Mary Catherine McLellan, Gloria Lopez, Patricia O'Neil, Anna Sey-mour, Nancy McNamara, Margaret Murray, Judith Gotham, Ruth Cunningham, Gertrude Cooke and Milo I.aVa.lley. Five Points - Girls' Basketball Team Choosing Pat O'Neil as our Captain, Judith Goth- am, Betty Bean, Rita Robillard, Margaret Murray, Nancy McNamara, Mary Catherine McLellan, Marie LaFave, Mary O'Brien, Gloria McKee, Ruth Cunning- ham and Anna Seymour went out for basketball. Anna Seymour and Nancy McNamara were chosen for S.M.A.'s all-star team. Five Points - Boys' Basketball Team Harold Doe, Bob LaVenture, Ernest O'R0urke, Francis Richards, Jack Farley, Joseph Alfred Dash- naw, Bob Smith and Donald Murray made up the boys' team. They had a victorious game over the Sophomores and their aim for next year is top place. Five Points - Student Council The Freshmen elected four members as our rep- resentatives on the student council. They were Mary Catherine M-cLe1lan, Milo LaValley, Donald Murray. and Pat 0'Neil. The policemen chosen by the council were Nancy' McNamara, Anna Seymour, Har- old Doe and Bob LaVenture. Eight Points - Ransomlng Pagan Babies We have begun our nigh school career by ran- soming eight pagan fbabies and the year is not over yet. We all realize how much our foreign missions have suffered on account of the war and we are earnestly endeavoring to do our part. Two Points - Class Party On February 11, we held our class party in a dance hall, beautifully decorlated with our class colors. Our guests were Reverend Father Devan, Father Coseo and Father Ryan. A few Words were spoken by Donald Cardinal and the class otlicers. Two Points - Second Dance We held our second dance on February eleventh and it was both a social and financial success. Five Points - Ticket Contest We proved our school spirit in our cooperation in the sale ot tickets for the annual school play. As a class we sold the total of 570.20 worth of tickets. Our competition was among our own class mates. Joan Smith, our zealous secretary, worked hard to bring her team out highest. The other members of her team were Mary O'Brien, Gloria McKee and Mary Woods. They won the first prize offered by the school. Other teammates were: Ruth Cunningham, Gloria Lopez, Donald Cardinal, Fred McDonald, Harold Doe, Jack Farley, John Costigan, Joseph F. Dashnaw, Jim Owens, Matt Roshirt, Joe McKee, Joe and Bob Mont- gomery. Seven Points - War Workers - Participating in our war program are Jean Henry and Jane Whitcombe, Eleanor Doe, Edward O'Dona- hue, Julia Maloney and Mary Lapoint. We gladly used this point for Uncle Sam. Five Points-School Play ' Members of our own class who were chosen to take part in Sing a Song of Sixteen were Gloria Lopez, Margaret Murray, Judith Gotham, Mary Catherine McLellan, Patricia 0'Nell, Nancy Mc- Namara, and Anna Seymour.
