They had presented their class symbols to the Seniors in a beautiful ceremony held at lunch time two weeks prior. For a mascot they chose a Koala Bear. Their class song is intitled Red Ties Forever Love by LaVert. A motto to live by is Yesdurday we were locked out, Today we find the key, and Tomorrow we shall open the door. As patron saints they chose Dorothy Kazel, Maura Clark, Ita Ford, and jean Donovan lf' 4' 9' A S 'Sit as lllillttf To St. Mary's juniors, receiving their class rings is something that they have eagerly 8l'1llCIE8IQd since their freshman year. The class rings symbolize unity among the juniors. Thus, the entire class receives t e same ring, to show that they are one and wil stand by each other. This year, for the first time, the Ring Ceremony was held at night, so that friends and family could share in the joyous moment. 5 9 3 J 3 Au Cap: Y. Collier Co-Capt. T. Who set the spirit at our school? Who spent all sum- mer long practicing in order to lead the fans during games? This group of talented, spirited, and dedicated girls put most of their time and effort toward making SMA a more fun and exciting place for us all. They promote pep and spirit in assemblies, during pep ral- lies, and most important during the games with their well coordinated routines and cheers. This year our Varsity Belles attended Cal State Long Beach for the 1987-88 USA Spirit Camp. There they learned how to promote even more school spirit and enthusiasm. The Belles left CSLB with numerous Superior ribbons and two Spirit sticks. SMA can rest assure that the tradition of excellence which has been displayed throughout the years won't stop with the hard working, energetic 1987-88 Varsity Cheerleading Squad. t .. ff A A S X 2 xfsislgs In N 5, g .3 -,.,, A S ess 3 .s We've Got pirit it The Belles show off their dazzling new uniforms but sticking with the SMA tradition.
