Within Thy wounds, hide LLiituut Permit me never to be separated from Thee. From the malignant enemy, defend me. At the hour of death, call me. And bid me come to Thee. That with Thy saints, I may praise Thee Forever, and ever . . Amen. Each day, each class, each activity is precedec by a prayer to Jesus, Mary and Joseph. We ask them to help us in our studies; we ask them tc help make our extra-curricular activities a suc- cess, and to help us win games. With the help of Jesus, Mary and Joseph we hope some day to attain our goal. While the rest of the world is hustling and bustling with preparation for Christmas, the Freshmen take time out to sing Christmas Carols with Father Ammering. . and you will find Him lying in a manger . . The freshmen ended their Christmas program with this beautiful nativity scene. The Blessed Virgin Mary Sodality With Father Ammering as an inspirational Moderator, The Blessed Virgin Mary’s Sodality proves to be our outstanding teen age organization. At the first meeting this year, 25 new members were inaugurated and the following officers were chosen: President. Mary A. Kennedy: Vice President, Jean Shaw: Secretary, Barbara White; Treasurer, Anne M. Grennan; Corresponding Secretary, Carol Pierson. Among their many activities, the girls Christmas Caroled for the hospitals in the vicinity, held a “Holiday Hop , and during Lent, sponsored a special movie: “Never Take No for an Answer”. Forty Hours Devotion Our Choir girls under the direction of Sister Bernadette Ann raise their voices in singing God’s praises. Our little flower girls appear to pay fitting tribute to the Blessed Sacrament during the Forty Hours Procession. Maytime “Mary Queen of the Universe” was the theme of the SMA float which caused much favorable com- ment when it was entered in the Mem- orial Day parade by the Class of ?57. M. Akoury crowns the statue of Our Lady at the special Senior May program, as the remainder of the student body lift- ed their voices in honor of Mary. Jane Clarke. Helen Hogan, Joanne Hayden and Ann M. Grennan formed the Court for Marie Akoury as “Our Lady Queen of the Universe” while Patrick Leonard and Carol Rancourt acted as flag bearers. f M r M. Akoury proudly poses with her mother and S. Anna Laurentia who beam their pride at the success of the SMA Float in honor of Our Lady. Direct, O Lord, we beseech Thee, all our actions by Thy holy inspirations, and carry them on by Thy gracious assistance so that every work and prayer of ours may always begin from Thee, and by Thee be happily ended, through Christ, Our Lord. Under Sister Raphael’s enjoyable direction, seniors in typing class prepare for coming exams. Library Club officers: B. White, B. Hyde, S. Bouplon. J. McGuire enjoy browsing through old vol- umes. Everyone agrees that Sister Marguerite is a wonderful teacher, and she certainly seems to have the Chemistry class totally intrigued at this point. The familiar voice of Sister Anna Laurentia is heard by everyone as she speaks through the P. A. system. When the school day is done everyone wears a smile. “What seems to be hold- ing up the line?” asks Bob Haynes. FIGHT SONG Let us fight, fight, fight, fight, fight. We’re out to win again.
