Music and speech adorn our lives and enable us to round out our education. This special training has been valuable, because it has given us mental discipline and poise. The direction and leadership of Sister Ann jose and Mr. XY'alsh have proved priceless in leading us toward an appreciation of good music. Mr. Walsh, our organist, furnishes accompaniment for school affairs and trains us for our Commencement singing. All of us are indebted to Miss Bannon who has gen- erously tutored us in the presentation of skits and plays throughout our grade school years. Through her efforts, we have learned to appreciate and strive toward mastery of diction and speech. Music and peech add to our laurels. Sister Ann jose explains the fundamentals of note-reading to Peter Herlihy, Kevin Herlihy, Miriam Leonard, Ella Weldaun. Miss Bannon presents Dominic Sario Oruforiml trophies to Robert Brennan, Mary lillcn Gorman, Michael Sweeney, jude Hogan, Marlene Mornhinweg, and XVilliam Lawrence. dorning our lives . . . Crowning our lives with beauty, music gives us an appreciation of the arts. Trained by Sister Ann jose, the music students are endowed with a love for fine music. Listening to records, preparing for recitals, practicing for pageants and assemblies, and studying the lives of great composers are all activities of the music department. Only through long hours of practice can we achieve the lasting crown of accomplishment and enjoyment of music.
