Their love for their work and the self-sacrifice manifested in all their actions have endeared them more to us than any worldly gift could have done. They have helped us to help ourselves and thereby attain the crown of enlightenment and knowledge through study and hard work. The Senior classes are the completion of our academic endeavors at St. Mary's. For some of us, this means the end of our formal education and the beginning of our life's work. For others, it is the commencement of years of further study. However, no matter what path each Sen- ior may choose, the spiritual and academic training which everyone of us has ac- quired at St. Mary's Academy will be of inestimable value in the years that lie ahead. the crowning event . . . Helen was also the school delegate to the N59 United Nations Seminar. For her excellent speech on the Constitution, themed on The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag, Anne La Rouche placed second in the area in the American Oratorical Contest. Anne also earned a partial scholarship to Nazareth College, while her poem, Rcflcrliml, won lirst place in the C.D.A. poetry contest. ik Sharing the glory with Helen is Pamela Corentto, our Salutatorian, who ranked second on the honor list of our class. SE IGR ALB M '15 2 Representing our class at Boys' and Girls' State in 1959 were Michael O'Keefe and jane Chambers. Theirs was a week well spent participating in government func- tions. Our outstanding citizens, as chosen by pop- ular vote of the entire student body, are Peter Firth and Pamela Corentto.
