1952 CIZOWIV 'HU l I 7-'Jmznted ly SENIUH IILASS SAINT MAHYS ACADEMY GLENSPALLS NEW Yllllli Q The Great Window, which fills the west end of the Great Hall, was patterned after the Great Hall at Wfestminster, England, and embodies all the finest principles of early stained glass-simplicity of design, strength of line, and restraint in model- ing. Its general theme is the Glorification of Catholic Education. Reading up- ward, the fifteen lancets, in three rows of five each, portray historical, cultural, and religious background. Both in subject matter and treatment, the Great Vlfindow is most expressive of the best that is in us and the life of which we Catholic students are a part. SCI-IOLASTIC LIFE ....... .....,. Are you Mass minded? ef Eucharistic Committee members devise ways of stimulating attendance at daily Mass. H 3 ing for the sanctification of others. The motivating force of the Sodality is the close association of members with the Blessed Virgin Mary. This association with their Mother Mary requires a deep love and finds its crowning expression in the Sodalist's Act of Consecration, whereby the student conse- crates himself publicly to a complete service of Christ and Mary. ntl GENERAL COUNCIL CSc1tft'1lJ: Anthony Mele, lNlarylottisc llillman, Father Keele, Bernard Casey, Adella Walslt, lfllen Lamlvert. fSlt1t111ingJ: llominitk Zurlo, john Abrahams, john llatllerttn, james Tipka, Martha Broun, Richard Moynihan, Kay Higgins, Rithard O'Brien, George Grenon. Pages of Spring -its theme-became pages in our memory book, pages which we will often turn to recapture the joy of that happy evening. Each corner of the gym was decorated to represent the title of a song, A Tree in the Meadow , Gone Fishin' Kissing Rock , and Ho Hum, It's Spring . The seasonal character of the dance was also apparent in the dainty pastel tints of the gown, as attractive and flowerlike as the corsages the girls so proudly wore. The highlight of the evening was the coronation of the Prom Queen. jane Metivier, the queen of the 1950 dance, crowned Norma Hart who then reigned over the festivities from the midst of her court. All too soon the hours slipped away, but not too fast to leave with us vivid memories of our own Junior Prom, 1951. 68 Spring - Flowers - Music - Dancing Q, U11 , s I 7' -Q 1 N 'Q , F A 3 Q i in ,Q 28 7' is . THE ACAD -31913 1 v gui X n 3 X SENIOR BALL Snow, sleet and ice made january 26, 1952 most unpleasant: however, for us that evening was a truly enchanted one. It was our Senior Ball. Suspended in the center of the Great Hall was a huge clock that measured off the years 1949, 1950, 1951, 1952, and keynoted the theme, Turn Back the Hands of Time'. The corner scenes were picturesque and realistic. One depicted the junior Prom Queen and her court, another with a covered well, picnic benches and shrub- bery recalled the Junior-Senior picnic. But why the classroom scene? you ask. Oh, that corner with its desks, chairs and maps is a reminder of ourselves as wide-eyed freshmen! Capably directed by Miss Mary T. Conroy and Co-chairmen Michael Massiano and Patricia Mulcahy, the Senior Ball effectively marked off another successful social event for the class of 1952.
