We started the year completely unknowing except for Pat Repikoff, who had yearbook experience. She turned out to be our guardian angel and was the only one who knew how much really had to be done to put out a book. We decided to have a theme this year to unify the book - we chose St, Mary's in the middle of an expanding city. Elaine worked for many, many hours sketching and drawing divider pages that would try to carry out this theme. She pain-stakingly drew the pages, sent them to the printer, only to find that she would have to draw them all over again, So the pages were re-done. Rebecca and Pat Jones took pictures again and again trying to capture that alive look we wanted to instill in the book so that with every page you could really hear and see life at SMA and frequently because of problems with the camera. We decided to try headlines to bring more of this life to the book which sometimes presented real problems to the Copy Staff, Susie, Pat, and Jeanne. Those vital little odd iobs otten fell under the heading Public Relations and therefore to Gail. Calling to see if pictures had been sent, checking to be sure photographers were coming, making arrangements for pictures and keeping the tile straight all fell into this category. From Sister Kristen came the en- couragement we needed, the guiding hand to keep us on the right oath, and the diplomatic no when our ideas got too extreme. To all of us, occasional disappointment, abundent excitement, and that feeling of accomplishment that makes the iob worth while will never be felt in the measure it has this year, We have tried new ideas and realize that some of these ideas may receive criticism. We attempted to bring to life the memories of a past year and hope that in some ways we have succeeded.
