Cffiaaa glzofzgeckty . . . Good evening! This is your First Nighter bidding you welcome and inviting you to come along with us down Broadway, toward the Metropolitan Opera House, where tonight the talented young baritone, Allan McDonald, will make his debut. We cannot justly say, however, that Mr. McDonald's performance is the only reason for the swarm of traffic that has Officer David Murphy in a dither, ar' the orchestra will be conducted tonight by the famous musician Donald Badaracco. Here comes our taxi! And we are surprised to find it being hacked by our old friend, joe Lucot, President of the Blue Sc White Cab Service Company. As we drive along, amid the bright and glittering lights, we happen to glance to our left in time to see a crowd gathered before the Cortes Cozy Kitchen, which boasts of the new vitaminized pancakes. An interested onlooker we recognize to be Mary Margaret Kerwin, whose three children are fascinated by the ability of the pro- prietress to flip pancakes. What's this we now see to our right? Could it be our own Happy O'Toole and Alice Wurtz starring in the Daffy Follies of 1958 at the New Paladium owned by Lou DiPerna. We've heard that Lou has just recently sold to Bill Latsko- the eminent financier, his Club Grandview, where the famous dancer Weary Lynch got his start. Weary and his sister, LaVerne, are visiting from Hollywood, where they just appeared in Producer Jim Derrick's latest film, Twinkle Toes. On both sides, before us and behind us, the streets are lined with the sensa- tional new automobiles designed by Jim Vlha and Bill Ryan. Driving one of these cars and going in the same direction as we, is Congressman Howard Whetzel, who is celebrating his tremendous victory in regard to compulsory Military Training. With him is Dorothy Meyer authoress of Dotty's Dainty Dishes, a new cook book, and also the famous scientists, Bernard Warsnak and Mary Ann Capo, who recently blew the roof from their laboratory while perfecting a certain bubble gum ingredient. Fortunately, no one was injured, but things were certainly gummed up for sometime. Going on to the next block, we find the elaborate Dance Studio of Margie Basilone and johnny Titz, that boasts of such prominent pupils as Ralph Nardi, owner of Garbaldi's Spaghetti Home, and Ray Schopp, whose butcher shops are found in most of the leading cities of the U. S. As we pass the Carnegie Lecture Hall, we notice that one of tomorrow's speakers will be Marie Naccarelli, discussing The Evils of Truancy g another will be julia McGraw lecturing on the benefits derived from truck-drivers' unions. The third speaker on the triple billing will be Patrick Manion, whose topic will be Work-just a Money Making Scheme.
