P rr' 'W ' uo Klfctcfis . Wliat are the thoughts of a graduate as he stands before hundreds of people and receives his diploma? Well, there's Mom and Dad in the fourth row to think about, there's that party after commencement exercises, there's that graduation present from Uncle Bill: there is, above all, a great feeling of relief. All these, and more thoughtsfgo racing through the minds of this young man or woman, but it isn't until the next morning, when the party is all over and the excitement has died down, that the graduate suddenly realizes- NVhat now? Pencils and books are now replaced by a great. deal of responsibility. Some, who have particular talents, know just what they want to do, but these are only a fortunate few. The others are standing at the fork of the Road of Life. The sign post up above points in three directions and reads: Religious-lllarried -Single. Here's one time when the Hip of a coin won't decide anything. The right road has to be chosen the first time, because the return routes along the other two are narrow and rocky, and sometimes impossible. All three roads branch into many different fields. New ones are being created every day. There is no need for anyone to be left to drift along aimlessly. Opportunity, however, sometimes, never even knocks at allg it must be sought. The go-getter is the fellow who wins, and justly so. y The purpose of every man's existence is to gain, someday, heaven by his conduct here on earth and by the correct use of God's gifts and graces. Man perfects these talents by the proper choice of his state in life, and by living up to all it requires of him. All three walks of life offer both salvation or damnation.
