Bcillet cmd Modern .lcizz Miss Anita Pienovi, a gradluate of the Academy, returns to her Alma Mater each week to teach classes in Ballet and Mod- ern Jazz. ln the elementary school ballet classes are included as part of the physical educa- tion program. High school students enroll in ballet and modern iazz classes as extra- curricular activities. Dorothy Springer relaxes at the Grand. Dorothy has been chosen as the outstanding music student of the year and will receive the Caecilan Award at class day exercises. What is this iazz? Music cmd Glee Many students of The Academy avail Themselves of the opportunity for private lessons in piano, violin or voice. The Pro- gressive Art Series is The outline of music that is followed. It is the dream of each student entering The Academy that she may, if not in her freshman year,. at least one day, be a member of The Academy Valmarie choir. Screening is minute and once admitted To The Glee, full cooperation is required. The Glee performs on many occasions. The outstanding performances are The caroling aT The hospitals aT Christmas, singing aT The spring musical, participating in The interschool Choral Festival and lastly The singing aT The Commencement exercises is The privilege of The Glee Club.
