Sociol Sciences Each student that graduates from S.M.V.A. has at least three units in Social Studies. World His- tory, United States History and American Problems are required for graduation. Classes are also offered in ancient and modern history so that any student inter- ested in majoring in the social sciences may do so. Term papers, panel discussions, debates and film strips are used as teaching devices in many of our classes but particularly so in the social sciences. Many new slides and films were added to the audio-visual aid library this year. Students of U. S. History fl. to r.D Diane McDevitt, Sharon Hinkle, Mary Cozart and Phyllis Schefers locate Kansas as they discuss the outcome of the slavery problem of that territory. Seniors ll. to rj Launa Roberts, Donna Cendana and Joan Stremich garner information in the library for their term papers in American Problems.
