Our Faculty The master portraits and those most priceless to the students of S.M.V.A., are those of our dedi- cated faculty, the Sisters of Saint Mary of Oregon. Founded in 1886 by the Most Reverend Wil- liam Gross, C.S.S.R., the commun- ity received Pontifical Approba- tion in 1934. At the present time twelve parochial schools in Ore- gon and two in Spokane, Wash- inqtori are staffed by the Sisters of St. Mary of Oregon. A tribute of gratitude is due our faculty for without them our Gallery of Art would never have been. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Portland University.
