.Jgfulory prom arrsved and we danced sn a cloudy msst to Blue Moon we all of a sudden wanted to stay here forever Our hearts wept sslently on Class Nsght when we presented the roses to our sensors a class whsch we would msss terrsbly Yet one thought drove stself snto every msnd Thss tsme next year When we returned the followsng September st was dsffscult to realsze that we were sensors Each tsme the term junsors was mentsoned we all turned our heads sn the dsrectson from whsch st came Thss word sensor was not gosng to be an easy one to become accustomed to-that was plasn enough to see The year started off sn sts accustomed chaos wsth the tradstsonal Hallowe en party and thss year we were the ghosts Volleyball put stself sn the lsmelsght wsth everyone sn school muttersng dsm words soundsng very ssmslar to the gym term set em up Dursng December bessdes the annual Chrsstmas party gsven by the junsors and the Chrsstmas play Star lsght sn Sheba sn whsch the sensors had a bsg hand the junsors also sponsored a sport dance whsch proved to be a huge success At last I9-49 came and wsth st our goal year Everythsng became crowded snto a few short months tsme wsth plans to make deadlsnes to meet On February 27 we proudly presented the sensor class play The Wsld Rose wsth the frsendly cooperatson of the entsre school Shall we ever forget the seemsngly eternal feudsng of Bobby and Mrs Fussyp After Easter came the Blue Fantasy Prom gsven by the competent junsors Thss year the prom was for us and no one can ever know how much each carefully planned detasl of st was apprecs ated Early sn May the clsmax of our last year came wsth the excstsng trsp to Washsngton D C We had ssx beautsful wonderful days wsth so much crowded snto them that now as we look back all of st seems quste smposssble After our trsp the tradstsonal Class Nsght actsvstses were held Dursng the evensng sksts and songs were presented by both the junsor and sensor classes Now there ss one more event sn our lsves whsch wsll surpass every other occurrence dursng all four years-graduatson Four years seems very long ,to a freshman just startsng out but to a sensor upon the very threshold of graduatsng those four seem to be the shortest persod of tsme that ever passed O - - - 11 ll 1 1 1 1 ' - I ' 1 - 11 - - 11 , . . . 1 . . . 4 em The Sensor Class of 49 before nt proceeds on nts Mary Way must pause and look back on those fond memories whfch at so warmly cherlshes Before we say farewell nt IS only flttjng that we should reflect a moment upon those four happy rndustrjous years which were spent here at St Marys In such worthwhjle dutnes ln September of 45 suxty sux green frrghtened llttle freshmen made theur ways up the long hull of St Marys The newness the beauty of It all was somewhat breathtaklng to say the least But wrth the help and frnendly guidance of the slsters and upper class men we slowly but surely adjusted our ways to hugh school llfe The flrst socjal event of the year was the Hallowe en party on October 26 The seniors In thelr tradntjonal ghostly garb were creeplng around making thnngs enjoyable but spooky for everyone On December Zl the juniors gave theur annual Christmas party whlch turned out most successfully The carols the games the tree the presents all added another memorable page In our hearts l946 came and wnth It those dreaded January exams However we struggled through and grade of the Mnghty Sophomore The fall of 46 came and wuth ut the sophomores We had lost a few of our former classmates but more jmportant we had gained more The gym walls were constantly ranging and resoundlng with the yells and screams of these gurls dnlngently earnmg their letter sweaters The comblnatjon of Caeser and geometry made condltlons In general a but more dlfflcult than the previous year but all was not work The play Lnttle Women turned out quite successfully and our dunner on the eve of the Junlor Senior basketball game just as well Tjme passed and we found ourselves on the threshold of a stall brighter year one filled wlth hopes soon to be attalned Something happened on that frrst day of school whlch brought unto vlew the reallzatlon of a long sought for dream Remember?
