Class History tConrinuedl Edna Croak, Grandmont, Milford Boutin, Harding, and Alfred Kurtz, Chicago, were found holding passports on the GILMARIAN for the journey to '29. Once more the crew rejoiced, once more the aims, ambitions, and plans were explained and the new members donned their sailor suits so that they would be classed as real GILMARIANS. During the voyage a cable was received from Father Cook, in which he told about the beautiful new Church he was erecting and how anxious he was to see the structure complete. He promised that the sailors' graduation from the ship of scholastic learning would be celebrated before the splen- did throne that was being raised to the Living God and His Blessed Mother, Mary Immaculate. To cheer the sailors, he announced that he was sending from Port '26 a half-dozen new sailors to swell their number. His promise was fulfilled when the following boys and girls joined the GILMARIANJ Donald Green, of Rosary, Bernard and Rita McNab, St. Agnes, Alfred Quigley, Visitation, Bernadine Hunt, Redeemer, and Bernadine Ryan, Denver. Port '27 suddenly loomed upon the horizon. What speed the ship was making! At this harbor two accredited sailors, George Doherty, of Assump- tion, and Terrence Renaud, of St. Joseph's, were accepted into the crew for the two following years of the Gilmarian voyage. The last stop the ship made was the port of '28, Here, by special per- mission, three senior sailors were taken on board, Mary Ellen Quigley, of Redford, Edna Heinze, Northwestern, and Agnes Hitchings, St. Theresa's. Of this last voyage of the GILMARIAN and her crew, many loving mem- ories remain. The final Port, '29, was reached too soon for these lovers of the sea. Their trip had been a happy one, their journey successful, and now the time for parting arrived. Despite the welcome at Graduation Port the sailors were sad, because their life at sea was over. But the deeds, the love, the work accomplished during the voyage on the scholastic ship will live in memory to guide, bless and cheer the crew on their separate voyages, to the Port of Heaven.
