THESE ARE OUR SISTERS To the Sisters of Charity, daughters of Mother Seton, this first year- book is dedicated. For them this is a special year . . . Pope John XXIII in December declared Mother Seton venerable . . . this is the 150th anniversary of their founding in Emmitsburg and the 130th anniversary of the Cincinnati foundation. The Sisters of Charity have labored in New Mexico since 1865, in Albuquerque since 1882, and at St, Mary since its opening in 1893. Mother Seton is responsible for beginning the parochial school system in the United States and her daughters started the public school system in Albuquerque. The source of their power is revealed above and all who meet them know-- the Charity of Christ urges them.
