Page 4 St. Mary How fortunate is the American youth of today? Never before have youngsters from six to eighteen had the opportunities offered in present day schools. Wide educational fields from which to choose and mold one's individual abilitiesg opportunities in music and athleticsg experience from school publications and dramatics 1- all these are at their disposal. To everyone is given the chance to de- velop into a well-adjusted, welI-edu- cated individual, his progress barred only by his lack of diligence. Yes, we are fortunate indeed, espe- cially so here at St. Mary where the soul is fortified while the mind is de- veloped. From the religious principles inculcated over the years we learn to distinguish right from wrongg we are prepared to face the problems of life, to deal with them squarely. Thus, we the graduates of i949 go forth from the hallowed halls of our Alma Mater with a faith strong as death, a hope directed toward our eternal goal and a love set afire with zeal for God's cause . . .
