PURE DHD s the lirst graduating class of Saint Mary of the Angels' Academy we are most appreciative of the opportunities for establishing many of the customs and traditions of our newly founded school. It is not given to many students to participate in the lirsts of their school. The majority must follow the traditions already estab- lished by those who have gone before. We are pioneers, just as the founders of our nation were pioneers. As the thirteen original colonies knew the importance of unity and cooperation, we thirteen Seniors have also experienced that need for concord and oneness. We have early learned a lesson which the world today is seeking. From mutual devotion and a common aim our unity has sprung, and it is that virtue of charity which we wish to carry out into the world with us. Those founders of our great nation set a flaming example for the nations of the whole world now striving to unite in peace. We likewise have desired to set an example for those who are to follow. In this we feel a particular responsibility, for not only must we uphold the trust which our parents, teachers, and friends have placed in us, but we must proffer an example worthy of the imitation of underclassmen. We have named ouri yearbook THE Bl1il,l.S, which is symbolic of her whom we are first to call Alma Mater-the august Queen of the Angels. Thrice daily Angelus bells commemorate the arc-hangel Gabriel's annunciation to Our Lady that she was lo be the Mother of God.
