Wie Bela For the first time in the history of the three-year-old institution of learn- ing, the Iirst graduating class of Saint Mary of the Angels' Academy will publish its first yearbook to be known as THE BELLS. The title of the publication is thought-compelling, since it reaches back into the memory cells of man and is practically a contemporary of the human race in every age of the world. Down through the corridors of time comes the sound of the ringing of The Bells. The exultant voice of victory in war, the weary note of defeat, the call to battle, the warning messenger of impending danger and calamity, the announcement of births and deaths- this is in brief the story of The Bells. These are the voices of The Bells which speak of the things of time. There are those other sounds which come from The Bells, now sweetly, now majestically, now trembling on the early air of morning, now mingling with the noise of the mart, now vanishing with the light of day. These are the voice of the spirit world, chanting the destiny of man: Non omnis moriar. It is the voice of God heard in the peal of the thunder and the riven lightning as in the falling leaf, but now summoning His human creatures to prayer and to worship. May THE BELLS of Saint lVlary's ring out loud and clear over the years of this new and great venture of the Senior Class of the Academy. May THE BELLS bring peace and happiness to the minds and hearts of all who read the pages of this yearbook. It is our enduring prayer that THE BELLS may be an imperishable memorial to the Faculty, the Alumnae, and the Students echoing the happy hours spent within the hallowed walls of Alma Mater.
