Szplou cle? Throughout the ages sculpture has fulfilled the important need of creating forms and figures which incor- porate the ideals and the beliefs of people and of the times in which they live. Religion, legends, events, and achieve- ments have contributed sub- jects that were expressed in a permanent medium. What better material could have been contributed for the act of modeling than human beings created to the image and likeness of God. Slowly, patiently, joy- fully and many times pain- fully our parents turned, twisted, bent us so as to express the ideal girl they hoped to make of us. From babyhood, childhood, on through adolescence this process has been underway. The informal lessons of our home life, coupled with the formal lessons in the classrooms developed the contour ofa well-modeled repre- sentation which gave beauty, dignity and reverence to an unfolding form.
