Sam Barthe St. Martin's was overpowered by the Sam Barthe Hornets 32-O in the Saints third district game. Barthe's massive offensive attack proved to be the Saint's downfall as the Hornets netted 381 yards total offense. The Saints fought dauntlessly in the first quarter, allowing Barthe no points. Barthe, however, tallied 24 of their 32 points in the second quarter, despite several outstanding defensive efforts by Saints. The second half was a much more evenly fought ball game. The Hornets were held scoreless in the third quarter and were allowed but one touchdown in the final period. Bill Ball turnedin an outstand- ing effort for the Saints' offense, while Mike Sistrunk anchored the defense and gave Barthe runners much trouble, At this point, the Saints were 1-1-1 in district play. ...wha Braun :!L ME lm! .
