Each summer St. Martin's sends four elected representatives to the L. S. U. campus in Baton Rouge to be- come citizens of a miniature mythi- cal state. On their return, they al- ways enthusiastically agree that this was one of the most memorable expe- riences of their life. During their week's stay, the delegates probably hear more speeches, yell more yells, meet more people, and march more marches than they ever thought they could! More than these things, they learn to appreciate the vital role of the individual in preserving our de- mocracy. Iade Van Meter, Carol West, Ham Lob, and Pepper Hatch were as outstanding citizens at Pelican State as they are at St. Martin's.
