I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. truth you abide and in my word... you shall know the truth the truth shall make you free. SISTER MARY OF SAINT OVIDE Ex-Superior It is with sincere pleasure that the Senior Class of 1960 dedicate their year book the VICTORIA to SISTER MARY OF SAINT OVIDE r.s.r. on the 50th anniversary of her religious profession in the Congregation of the Sisters of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary. Her work as Superior and teacher at Saint Martin of Tours School during the six years from 1948 to 1956 has assured us of the deep devotion and kindly interest she feels in our spiritual and moral welfare. Her name and the remembrance of her many kindly acts will glow engraved in letters of gold in our memory and hearts forever. ADMINISTRATIO and FACULTY ? 'K 1 Havmg reached the SENIOR year of our secondary education we will press ever ONWARD to higher sum- mits of knowledge and of truth until we reach our ful- fillment in God. LINDA ARSENAULT Our representative at Girls' State, a dutiful stu- dent conscious of her responsibilities, society may depend on her. She will continue to be an honor to her Alma Mater. CAROL ALBERT Carol is the typical modern business woman. Shorthand to her is just a maze of hieroglyphics. Her plans for the future include an office equipped with the latest in dictaphones and automatic trans- cribers. She excels on the typewriter when she re- members to turn on the switch. DIANE CASTONGUAY Two years Sodality prefect. This alone speaks for itself. Diane is the ever-ready-to-lend-a helping hand type, who has taught devotion to duty not by word but by example. We know that she will con- tinue her apostolate in the world of tomorrow. MICHAEL BROWN Fun-loving, easy going. Michael is one of the most likeable seniors at St. Mart.in's. With his brains and personality he can rise to the heights .... if he chooses to. MARLENE MARTIN Marlene 's smiling disposition and her agreeable manners have made her a general favorite of the student body ever since her arrival at St. Martin 's. She is a sincere and efficient worker and we know that her cheerful smile will be missed by many of the underclassmen when she graduates. ibm, 2 PATRICIA LAPLANTE Why did we nickname her Mousie ? Not because of her retiring dispositions, Not because of her happy character! Perhaps because she can intimate her happy dispositions into every circle she happens to be! She is sought after, not chased. WALTER DUPREY Dunnie the class comedian. An ardent worker, he likes to test his ability by solving intricate mathe- matical problems, but above all delights in making people laugh. NORMA DESCHAINE Editor-in-chief of the Victoria, of the DeTour, cheerleader, active member of the Sodality and Glee Club. Norma will continue to contribute to the welfare of those around her. MADELINE LEVEILLE If Madeline is as circumspect in life as she is in driving her car, she will not be the author of any rash deeds. Depend on her, she is trustworthy and loving. RONALD CYR Tall, dark and handsome, Ronnie is the smiling bashful Senior with the talent for drawing. His sin- cere and modest disposition have endeared him to all his classmates. ZELMA VOISINE Many a class meeting, many an assembly, many a discussion has been kept alive by Ze1ma's argu- ments. She has a store of them, always to the point and can win you over to her viewpoint. She will not be an idle bystander when the important questions of life are brought up. til. t X t . J- -sf? .bltt:'::QQ,tjfah ,sw-Li ' X555 K 5 f as , rrt 1 .ES if ANNE MARTIN Anne is not the type whose impulses drive her headlong into reckless action. Serene, cheerful, she prefers silence to empty words and useless gestures. Good luck in whatever career you choose. FRANKLIN FRIEL Frank has been the backbone of the Senior Class. Calm, apparently inactive-all is done on time, in the right way, and very satisfactorily. May he sail on a calm sea to a golden sunset. CATHERINE MCDOUGALL Cathy's verve and sparkle has added much to the cheerleading squads the last three years. Her enthusiastic handling of hard work, her talent for dancing, her sincere friendly disposition have made her one of the most popular girls in the class. MARY MARTINA MEGNO Small in structure but big in heart is Tina. She is a good one for expressing her opinion on any and all subjects. During her years at St. Martin's she has become a very capable typist. She will be a valuable addition to some business office. JAMES GRAY Motorcycles and cars mean more to James than books and lessons. Will the future show him to be the pilot of the Titan, the 5500 mile per hour ICBM, available in 1960? Jimmy wherever you go or whatever you do, we know that your friendly per- suasive manners will see you through. LOIS PORTWINE Lois Anne is the antipode of Aldea. Reticence is not her weakest virtue! Gracious but not grave is her motto. She will succeed. . .to make you lose your temper with her teasing but her infectious laugh ter, and charm of personality will always succeed in making you forgive her. NANCY DONLEY One of the St. Martin's most mischievous students 'P Her happy-go-lucky manner covers a serious desire to become a registered nurse. She will bring com- fort to many and make a nursing career a successful one, DAVID GUY To be as optimistic as Dave! and see only the bright side of things! with such a pleasant attitude towards life, no anxieties, worries, or cares, we have no doubt that Dave will live happily whatever fate may bring to him in the future. Were Shakespeare living, he would recognize in him a second Falstaff. ALDEA WILLETTE If the proverb Le bien ne fait pas de bruit be true, Aldea is a living example of it. She rarely speaks, seldom hurries, and is always ready to give a helping hand. Very few know what will ensue in Aldea's future. She is therefore the envy of her classmates. IOANNE SAUCIER Talkative, cheerful, carefree, Joanne is the lark of the Senior Class. What would the Sodality have done without her cooperation? We are sure that Joanne will spread joy and happiness about her---for her jolly dispositions are contagious. ERNEST LSVASSEUR Bee 's ability to lead will be a great asset in his future career. This plus his ambition to reach the top, tempered by wisdom and age, will make him one of the leaders America needs. TRINA PELLETIER Trina wants to see t.he world, travel far and wide. She will be our future air-line stewardess. She has all the required aptitudes even the knack of being right on time . ww' Searching for the truth . . . unless education be wed to the truth we have in Christ, be inspired by the vision of that truth as it is unveiled before our searching minds, be powered by His grace. . . it remains a dry and lifeless form! pf 2 I rua no anus osns :-Q ,I 5 jf.
