CLASS PROPHECY It was at my weddmg recept1on on the mornmg of my marrxage to John Kelly I had been h1s secretary ever smce I left Busxness School 6 years prevxous to that Day of Days It was also the 10th anmversary of my graduatxon from St Martm of Tours Hxgh School All my former classmates were 1nv1ted to the weddlng and Iwas lookmg forward to seemg them all agam Although we had kept mn touch wxth each other through letters and cards for several of them thms was to be our f1rst meetmg smce that mem orable day of Graduatlon from dear old St Martm s My fr1end Sylvlane Albert who had been my chum through Hlgh School and Busmess School was Ma1d of Honor She was very much the career woman and at present IS prlvate secretary to John D Rockefeller Jr As I stood 1n the recelvlng l1ne the flrst to greet me was Norma Landry She was satxsfylng her yen for travel as prlvate nurse and travellng compan 1on to an aged and very wealthy lady Her charmxng dlsposxtlon IS a great help to her IH thxs exc1t1ng enterprlse Paulme Plourde was next to shake my hand As she greeted me I hoped that my marrmge would be as happy as hers She had been for a few years secretary to a dent1st Now she and her school teacher husband are ra1s1ng a large famxly of Qu1z Kxds Next IH l1ne was my blushlng classmate Beverly Walsh She had been a navy nurse for a few years and IS now head nurse ln New York at the Belle vue Hospltal As I turned to greet the next guest I met a pa1r of deep blue eyes It was tm s she had attended the Home Economxcs school conducted by our own S15 ters xn Rlmouskx At present she xs the very popular pastry cook at the Waldorf Astorxa The tall man on my left was none other than Ronald Bochard He had certamly grown sxnce hxs Hlgh School days Then I learned the reason He IS at present modelmg elevator shoes for the Skyscraper Shoe Co I turned as a volce greeted me Hello Bea By the tone of volce I 1m med1ately recogn1zed Edwma Bouchard Our class pest IS now the Prmcxpal of Peaceful Vale Fmlshmg School Very strlct too I hear Imagme my happmess when I looked up to see a tall dxgmfxed gentleman Professor James Daley who placxdly smmled and presented me w1th a com plete set of h1s latest books on the Knack of Argumg At present he IS a teacher of Publxc Speakmg at Holy Cross Last 1n l1ne was a tall prosperous lookxng gent whom I recognnzed as Franklxn Manzo Wxth h1s flaxr for Geometry and Mathematlcs and h1s skxll for carpentry work he had entered the contractmg busmess Now as pres1 dent of h1s fxrm he IS engaged m buxldmg a number of stores for the Sears 8: Roebuck Co After a dellghtful receptlon and happy remxnlscences of wonderful days gone by my husband and I took leave of my old classmen w1th a fond fare well and w1shes for success and happmess throughout the commg years BEATRICE RAYMOND 51 Joanne Mayo, another chum of my High School days.
