'fi' nil' REV LIONEL IVICKEONE Dear Graduates Thanks to your beloved Pastor dear parents devoted teachers and sacrificing selves you have received the best that Catholic Education offers in the grade school and High School where all the Christian virtues were well exemplified in the teaching Nuns By Catholic Education I mean an educatmon a school of thought a culture in which God permeates the daily curriculum e g In MATHEMATICS you learnedthat 2 x2 equal 4 but also that Time does not equal Eternity In GEOGRAPHY you familiarized yourselves with countless places but mention of Heaven was made a place where one day we all pray and long to see God and His Church In SCIENCE whereas men s brains are bent on the atomic power of bombs for destru tion you have over and above this realized the atomic power of prayer for construction In CHEMISTRY while evaluating the human body in terms of chemicals at 67? o Sl 67 with high cost of llving you were impressed more about the inestimable worth of your immortal soul for what doth it profit a man if he gain the whole world and suffer the loss of his own soul? In RELIGION Church and experience have taught you that character formation built on morality order and Peace of soul with God is the cornerstone of success for they labor in vain that build without God Onthe lawful pursuit of happiness more stress was laid in the saving Sign of the Cross and Almighty God and less on the dollar sign and almightly dollar May your class motto Let Us Be Known By Our Deeds be your guiding star on the rough sea of life God bless you Lionel J McKeone X ki, , A K -R up 9. Out into the world we now proceed--into a world of confused thinking, and a tot- tering sense of values--a world of unrest, which can be painfully traced back to the training of Yesterday's Youth or lack of it. We realize, not without anxiety, de spite the glorious event of graduation that the 'World of Tomorrow is in our hands, the 'Youth of Today. The task is humanly impossible, within these walls we have received the strong and fundamental convic- tion that if God is with us, who can be against us ? Hence, we march forward, undaunted, into a world that needs us. December means every night after school to rehearse for the pageant February featured an elaborate exhibition on the Catholic Press On the same occa sion an education program was presented Assisting were the Pastor Curate teaching staff of the school and Miss Keily the Town Librarian JUNIOR YEAR Jolly Juniors, we say in spite of the sad fact that again some of our fellow students have faltered on the way We send up a silent prayer that they may see the Light just the same Book Week furnished us the opportunity to exhibit our dramatic talents An instruc tive program featuring Book Week Education Week Thanksgiving and A11 Saints was put on for the parents and friends of the school Christmas Pageant again' Our faces will certainly be missed when we graduate they ve been seen often enough on the stage SENIOR YEAR The final step toward the summit is now here TEN of US' D1scouraging'P Useless enterprise?
